Exclamation ACE 3rd VS. 4th edition question..

My brother has the material for the 3rd edition of ACE certification, how does it compare to the 4th? is it to outdated to learn what i need to know about getting ACE certified and passing the test? That might be a dumb question but i thought i would put it out there for anyone more experienced in the PT field. I'm low on the funds and i want to know if i need to spend the money to get the 4th edition to get certified. Thanks for the help!!

3 will do very little to help you pass the new test.

I know this is an old thread, but I have just started studying for my ACE PT certificate and am in the same boat. First off, to address this:

As many here have passed the new test using the 3rd edition, I find your statement specious. In fact, the people at ACE themselves (who would have a vested interest in selling you the new edition) disagree with your assessment.

They have a link to the new nutrition guidelines they used in the 4th edition.

Check out the Executive Summary and the Consumer Brochure (6/11). The Questions and Answers section includes a section on what specifically is different from the previous guidelines.
The other major difference between the 3rd and 4th editions of the ACE manual is the ACE IFT Model:

There is a four part series on ACE IFT Model

A great study resource for this would be StudySoup. People post their study guides and flashcards according to exam and it has helped me so much for these tests!
