    Ok, really how much protein can you absorb in one sitting

    I've searched and have not been able to find a legit source, besides people throwing out ideas.

    Anyone know the answer and have a legit source?

    you absorb all the protein you eat, whey digests at like 10 grams per hour when you only have whey in your stomach. whey is also like the fastest digesting protein out there.

    for instance i think raw egg digests at like 1.5-3 grams per hour

    when you eat fat, carbs, fiber, etc, it slows down the digestion of the protein, so when you eat say 1/2 lb of steak with 2 cups of rice that meal could take like 10 hours to digest all the protein.

    as to how much protein can be used in a day, thats subjective, but the calories from the protein will help maintain/build muscle even if your body doesnt need the extra protein.

    You realize that digestion takes 24 to 72 hours from when you eat something to the completion of the process... stop thinking in meals and start thinking in terms of days and weeks. I eat 100 grams of protein in a single sitting on a frequent occassion and it hasnt hindered or hurt anything. Do some reading of Alan Aragon's stuff if you want legit info
