I don't mean to sound pretentious, but the fact that I write professionally for a D.C. newspaper's movie section should make you at least give my opinion consideration. If you don't agree, you are probably a racist and keep a small social circle.
Seriously though, those are, hands-down, the two best performances since 2000.
The mix of wit, originality, dark humor, range, and overall skill each of these men displayed is unparalleled in modern cinema. Not since Taxi Driver have I been so enthralled with a character. Yet, both managed to execute the role flawlessly.
There have been a lot of performances to admire this decade and you can make arguments for a whole range of actors, but this is simply the opinion of a theater major, improv student, part-time actor, and less-than-stellar writer. Take it for what it's worth.
Come at me young brahs.

was there something wrong with the use there? do you think anyone other than daniel day lewis could have pulled off "there will be blood"? i like to think of epic performances as "with anyone else in this role, this movie just wouldn't have been even close to as good". so who else, brah?
What's the symbology there?
I work very hard to be a decent man. Sometimes...something inside me...works a little harder.

There's no sensing arguing about it ... what would saying the publication prove anyway? It's not like I'm going to give out my name on a message board and post a picture of a paycheck stub.
If you have ever worked as a freelance writer before, you would know that it is not that hard to get regular columns if you are persistent, hard-working, market yourself right, and above all, submit your work on time. Hell, you've got a leg up on most other writers if you can meet a deadline.
