Exclamation How long should workouts go for?

My workouts use to be around an hour, until I read in an article on bb.com that after 47 minutes your body releases a hormone or decreases a hormone (something like that) that has a catabolic effect and it's not good. I can't find the article anymore.

Now I try to fit everything in, in 45 minutes.

I just wanted to know if it was true? That after around 47 minutes it isn't good to continue training. It just sounds weird to me.

Usally workouts last about a good hour give or take some...It depends on what your doing...how intense your workout is...Im not sure about that 45 minute thing...Dont let stupid statistics change your workout. When your done working out then Your done

I usually hit a wall at around 50 minutes, so that sounds pretty good to me. That said, work to your own pace. Probably anything in that range +/- 30% is fine.

Take however long you need to train. Pay no attention to the 45 min, 1 hr, 47 minute rules. Those who focus to much on the timing of their sessions usually aren't spending enough time and effort doing the things that really matter.

But with that said, don't waste your time in the gym doing useless things and endless sets/reps with those movements. Find out what ACTUALLY works and do it. Ironically when this happens, training sessions usually last around 45-75 minutes - but has nothing to do with the time rule.
