    cut or gain??

I am at a crossroad. I am 173 right now. Meet is in 1 month. Do I try to lose 8 pounds, I have already lost 7, or go up? I am pretty confident I could hit 165, but in a comp do the guys at 180 lift conisderably more than the guys at 165.. .Or should I just not worry about it since it is my first comp, concentrate on just getting stronger and worry about weight for the next comp?

8 pounds isn't a lot of weight to lose in a month if you include water weight, and yes the difference between 165 and 181 in generally large

Unless you are looking to break a record at a certain weight class, don't worry about it.

This, especially if its your first meet. You'll have enough to worry about as it is. Good luck!
There is no such thing as 'strong enough'

thanks, another reason I am kind of not wanting to diet, I am so concerned with what I eat, it may be better for me to just get stronger and increase the lifts more.

First meet, just go where you're at. Save the hassle of making weight for later.

In the long run guys your height end up in the 198's or the 220's. Wait for then to try to cut weight
