Hello. I am a new convert to BFFM and am working very hard. I got my BF tested and am hitting the ground running, literally. I have almost finished the BFFM book and just now calculated my TDEE with the equation below, in order to establish my calorie intake and cutting number. Please tell me that I am doing this correctly, because my TDEE seems very high.
Here are my stats:
Weight: 260
Height: 6'3"
BF%: 27.1%
Lean Weight: 189.48
Fat Weight: 70.52
Need to lose 37 lbs of fat in order to be 15% BF and 223 lbs.
BMR (men and women) = 370 + (21.6 X lean mass in kg)
My body fat percentage is 27.1% (70.52 lbs. fat, 189.48 lbs. lean)
My lean mass is 189.48 lbs. (86.13 kilos)
My BMR = 370 + (21.6 X 86.13) = 2230 calories
To determine TDEE from BMR, you simply multiply BMR by the activity multiplier:
My BMR is 2230
Very active = BMR X 1.725 (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days/wk)
I go to the gym 6 days a week. Lift weights for 45 minutes 5 days a week, followed by 15 minutes of HIIT. One day a week I do a long slow run (This week I did 8 miles going 5.1 mph).
My activity factor is 1.725
My TDEE = 1.725 X 2230 = 3847 calories
To lose weight, I should eat 3347 calories per day!!!!????
