Obviously no one knows what really happened, but sometimes people need a slap as a wake up call. Except it's not just one individual accusing him, we have three separate accounts that all agree on what happened, plus a fourth account (John Meadows) that confirms the gist of it but disagrees on some of the details.

I really hope you don't mean that. So you can assault someone because you want to snap them out of their state of mind. I am sorry, but that is just not acceptable behavior in a civilized society. Evan's response was very underwhelming. If he didn't hit the kid in anyway or tried to assault him when he makes a statement it is rather easy to say "I did not hit that person"

I don't know what ResovoirDog is talking about but in any gym I have gone to in USA and I have been to many and I have been to gyms in Turkey and France etc. you can not assault any member in any form, you cannot slap them either. Your membership would most likely be terminated on the spot and a legal case can very easily follow since there would be witnesses of the assault.

When people own up their mistake apologize nicely and drop the ego aside, most problems do go away.

Evan is the main attraction of that gym and it appears from past videos incredibly close with the owners. If the video puts Evan in a bad light it will never be shown.
On that same point if it shows he didn't do anything I think we would have seen it already.

Exactly this. If people just went around slapping that **** out of every person who annoyed them, (people who cut in line at a grocery store, sales people in some retail stores who pester you constantly when you tell them you are good and just browsing, a rude waiter/server et., et.,) there would be a ton of conflict and violence in society. That's not how civilized people with restraint behave.

Evan likely snapped. It happens to all of us. Some can control it better than others. Some just mouth people off, some will punch a wall out of frustration, others punch, slap, push, spit at people.

If Evan were just honest and said he lost his patience and took things too far I would have a ton of respect for him. Rather, this holier than though blanket statement of, 'I'm Evan Centopani and I always do the right thing' comes across as somewhat egotistical IMO.

You made a mistake Evan, be a man, own up to it, apologize for assaulting the kid and move on. Simple IMO.

With 4 separate accounts/witnesses depicting the scuffle and slap by Evan, I think it is pretty clear that something along those lines took place.

It is dicking around, bottom line. You can post a pic of coleman and some other respected lifter(dont know his name put he looks the part) doing it but no one actually trains like that. His friends were being foolish and Evan snapped at them. Id venture to say his comments about his "gym rights" afterwords were a little more insulting than him and his friends are leading on. However touching someone over deadlifting is absurd if it is true.

I actually was going to say something like this. Everyone is assuming that he winded up and slapped the dude upside the head. I'm not a lawyer but can you not be charged with assault for even the smallest bit of physical contact?
