What do you have to do to get mod repped on this site besides being a miscer douchebag? Some of you guys are inexplicably shooting up there while other quality posters have peanuts. In all these years and all the posts of substance I've made and helpful advice I've given (in other sections besides this one even) how many times have I ever been mod repped? Zero.

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Didn't want to continue this in the Rogue thread, so I figured I would move it to here. I actually reworked my routine following our discussion and did my first session of DL's yesterday, light session with 225lbs to work on getting my technique back. I used to be just as comfortable squatting as I did DL'ing, so it was a bit frustrating but I made it through without injury so I can't complain. The bar wasn't quite as hard to hold onto as I remembered but then again it was a pretty light session, and I broke out the liquid grip which always seems to help considerably. Between the three bars I would say the York had the best knurl for deadlifts, I had someone test it a while back who had the Ohio Power Bar and he said to save my money because it wasn't that profound a difference on stick FWIW.
But I'm trying to not think overthink it otherwise I'll be plotting a barbell purchase, when I have chalk and versa grips if needed. Will be interesting to see what REP does with the revised Power Bar though, I think they said they were going to bring up the sharpness a tad to address the 'Slick' feeling comments some had mentioned (like MGM711).▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #58 ▪█─────█▪

[rant]Why does every interaction with Comcast have to be a royal PITA?[/rant]
We've had the phone/cable/internet bundle for the past couple years. I had been paying $170.79 a month, but this month it went up ~25% to $212.89
I know it's probably just a standard rate increase after oyr 2 yr promo rate, but that's still ridiculously expensive for a phone we don't use and 5-6 TV channels we watch.
I'm seriously considering dropping the cable and phone, and switching to SlingTV, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. We already have a couple Xboxes, so I don't think I'll need any hardware.
All I want is a simple list of Comcast's internet packages and prices. That's it. Why do I have to wade thru a bunch of prompts just to talk to a person I can't understand, and who can't/won't help me. They tell me to call customer service. How do they think I wound up talking to them in the first place?

I hate Comcast.
I have Fios. And part of it, when you need plan help you can get it at the Verizon store.
Long time I had internet only, I believe their second or third tier speed (which I should drop now that I realize it is only me in the house) for $88/mo. Last time I went to VZW to get a new phone, the Fios guy found out I was internet only - they are so desperate for cable subscribers he gave me $6/mo OFF my bill to add cable and put a note to not send me a cable box.Boomer Rep Crew #1

Unfortunately, FiOS isn't available in this area. We're long time Verizon customers, and I'd much rather deal with the folks at my local Verizon store than the morons I usually wind up talking to when I call Comcast.

We have Cox Communications here.
We can add services via their web site (which looks pretty straightforward), but if we want to make changes which remove services or otherwise downgrade the package we have, we have to call in. I expect we'll encounter a similar maze of phone prompts.
I'm currently doing a trial of Youtube TV. For the stuff I watch, it seems better (so far) than Playstation Vue - a lot better, in fact. For the programs that I've set up to "DVR", I can join the program live, back up to the beginning, and skip commercials. I couldn't do that with Playstation Vue. Also, I've noticed that some recorded programs already have the commercials cut. It doesn't happen with all of them, but this was definitely the case for an episode of American Ninja Warrior that I watched.
We also have Amazon Prime and like it. I haven't tried Hulu or SlingTV yet.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #35

Really, all we need is Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, HGTV, AMC, Discovery, and maybe the Food Network.
I don't need 20 channels in Spanish, 8 home shopping channels, non-HD duplicates of my HD channels, adult channels that I have to filter so I don't have to explain "Dirty Backdoor Housewives" to my 9 yr old, etc."What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I thought I'd say a few more words about problems with Youtube TV. As I stated in my earlier post, I like it, but there are still some issues...
The main problem is that it's only available in major markets. Until very recently, Phoenix wasn't included, but it is now.
Another problem is that there are some channels that aren't included. Two that I know of are CNN and PBS. (We don't watch CNN all that much, but we do like our local PBS station.) There's a bunch of other channels (compared to our cable offering) that are missing too, but those don't matter to me.
Yet another problem is that the app isn't available (yet?) for my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. It works on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S7), Chromecast device, and even in my web browser on my Linux box. The web browser trick can be used to make it work on the tablet so long as you switch to a desktop site once you get there.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #35

We have a local internet company for internet. it's fine, though sometimes i think they throttle my internet down at night when i'm trying to
play video gameswatch naughty videosstream youtube music while i lift weights after work. it doesn't happen often enough that i remember to call during the day though.
we use Dish network so that we can subscribe to some hong kong chinese channels for the wife. i think their service has been great so far, though i wish rain didn't make us lose our channels. still, we rarely watch tv live, so as long as it gets recorded it's fine. pricing for cable tv is broken as hell right now. no one likes the way it's being sold right now, and the model is shifting towards premium channels. hbo, netflix, hulu, cbs all access, fox is starting one, etc.
someone i know mentioned an alternative to dish for watching hong kong television, so if that's a good option i'll probably drop Dish network, keep Amazon Prime and maybe add Netflix. i'll have to find a way to get the local channels (my antennae reception is poor in my area) for chiefs games and to watch American Ninja Warrior. getting an after market TVR or building my own HTPC won't be a problem either, i hope. i'll save $100 bucks a month though, which will be great.Domicron's Basement Gym and Fun House

Unfortunately, Comcast has the Atlanta area on lockdown, and the only other option (besides streaming) is satellite.
I had Direct TV 15 years ago, and had nothing but trouble with it. The signal went out at the tiniest bit of rain, and their customer service was a joke. Based on what I've seen and heard from current satellite customers, it really hasn't improved much since then."What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Does anyone have an idea on the logic behind when you can rep a person back? Is this based on time or no of reps
I always seems to be on spread with some users here even though I haven't repped them in a while like more than 3 to 4 weeks and in some cases couple of months.[M]===[6]▪ Mech6 Crew #35 ▪[M]===[6]

Everybody is limited to giving out 5 reputations per day; you cannot give the same person reputation until you have given reputation to 40 other people. This prevents friends from giving 10 reputations to the same person every day. Use them wisely!▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #53 ▪█─────█▪

for me, the customer service has been pretty good. the signal going out is frustrating, but we only watch a few shows and most of the time we've been lucky with the rain not interfering with the recording (or we'll record one of the reruns).
my problem with it is that we watch so little but pay so much for it...Domicron's Basement Gym and Fun House

So the knurling is not too different between the two bars? That's really interesting! I'm going to start looking at the York 32mm bar you mentioned. I don't need it anytime soon, but I wonder how it would be for training. It might be good enough to stop me from spending way too much money on a 35mm bar.
If REP can pressure Rogue, that will be good.
Between those bars, AB's $450 power bar & Duffins bars, there's a lot of interesting stuff floating around.Crews: Ivanko Barbell Crew #52, York Barbell Club #95, Equipment Crew #59

Oddly, I think the knurling is probably very different based on discriptions people post on here. York rolls down their tips but the pattern is unique. Hard to explain, and it's been some time, but I truly miss that York 32121 barbell sometimes. The current version they removed the center knurling which sucks, otherwise I would have probably purchased another by now for squat and bench. I'll try to dig up some old pictures of the barbell, it was in my Home Gym Version 2.0 thread, but photobucket has disabled my pictures.

That would be cool.
I swear, if I could get the proper lens (I'll have to hit up KBKB), I'd like to get proper shots of of everything.
I want to know if there are proper machining terms that describe the feeling of knurling. There needs to be some consensus on how to describe it. Everyone is far too vague due to a limited vocabulary, including myself.
Let me know how it works out. Did you get the black oxide version or the other?Crews: Ivanko Barbell Crew #52, York Barbell Club #95, Equipment Crew #59
