I don't think Yahoo has Keeper settings but we can just keep the players we want and the commissioner adds them in next season. I've done it for hockey and it works fine (as long as the commissioner knows what he's doing). If someone leaves, we get a new manager with the old manager's team.
I say we stick with yahoo. Everyone here is familiar with it anyways.Leafs, Raptors, Jays, umad?

Had a thought, but don't know how we'd work the "keeper" angle. Should we make it possible that the team that finishes last gets dropped from the A league and the winner of the B league gets his spot?

It can only work if the winner of B-league took over the last place team and made his keepers from that selection of players. He wouldnt be able to have keepers off his B-league championship team because he'd have some of the same players as the rest of us.
Im kinda against that because it complicates the hell out of things, but if everyone wants to do it I wont say no.

Has anyone here actually ran or been in a Keeper Fantasy League? Been reading some stuff about how the leagues are ran, settings and a few things and it looks like it could get confusing very very easily.
I'll post some ideas that I find here if noone is familiar. I am not, I have never been involved in a keeper league, just 1 year leagues, but I am willing to keep reading and doing research on what could be the best ways to run it are.100% legit poster, no longer a troll. (dead serious)

Reading alot of people breaking the draft into teirs such as
Rounds
1-4 (no players keeped)
5-9 (1 player)
10-14 (1 player)
15-19 (1 player)
20-24 (1 player)
24-28 (1 player)
Most of what I have read is they keep no players drafted in rounds 1-4 to keep the superstars available each year and then have the option to keep 1 player for a Maximum of 3 years in each of the rest of the round brackets.
I do not agree with the no player kept in the first 4 rounds... I think we should be able to keep one player in that bracket as well and then in the subsequent draft do like..
Any player you keep in bracket 1-4, you must draft him in the first round, essentially giving up your first round pick for him. And then, each other bracket, each player must be drafted at 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, and 24th... so if you keep a guy at you drafted in round 9, you must draft him in round 5 the next year. Sorry if this doesnt make much sense, I am just doing ideas and I am admittedly bored at the moment lol.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The other ideas I have read (where no picks in round 1-4 were kept) they have a rule that, if you keep a player, you lose a draft pick 4 rounds ahead of where he was picked. So, if you keep ur 5th round, you lose your first round pick (you take him in the first round) and each year you keep him, its another 4 rounds, so players in rounds 5-8 can only be kept 1 extra year... 9-12, 2 extra years... (first year you keep him, you give up round 5 pick, 2nd year, 1st round pick.. for a player drafted #9) 13-16 could have up to 3 years of control, 17-20, 4 years, 21-24 5 years, 25-28, 6 years of control.
So, what this does, is it puts a premium of finding diamonds in the rough at the end of the draft.
Let me know what yall think if any of you can make any sense of this jumbled mess I have jut created...100% legit poster, no longer a troll. (dead serious)

Or....
at the end of the year each manager gets to choose a number (say 5) players to keep, no matter what position. Most fair way in my opinion. Doing it by rounds is stupid, the players in the first few rounds will be making up the basis of your roster and it would suck to lose them each year.
Keeping a set number of players makes it like the real thing. Keep the best players, base the rest of your team off of those players.Leafs, Raptors, Jays, umad?

Well, if we do it this way, that essentially locks up the top 70 fantasy players each year. The problem with this scenario, is that the people with bad teams could lose interest, knowing that they are stuck with their picks and will never have a shot at anymore elite players to fix their team the next season and it could also make the league stale out a bit if their isnt very much turnover in the league year to year involving the elite players.
I can see it both ways, but we have a long time to figure all this out, because this really won't be relevent until next year.100% legit poster, no longer a troll. (dead serious)

Well that's the situation if the player rankings never change. You're going to have busts and breakout years which will affect the draft next year. Picking a guy in the first round doesn't mean you're keeping him for next year. Sure guys like A-rod and Pujols will be locked up, but most other things will change.
Look at Aaron Hill, he probably went undrafted this season, but you can bet he'll be drafted in most leagues this year. To contrast, look at Vlad Guerrero. He was ranked pretty high this year but next year he'll be nowhere near the top.
The point is that most of the time, your group of keepers will likely change from year to year.Leafs, Raptors, Jays, umad?

I say, 1 player in rounds 1-5. 2 players in rounds 6-10. Any 2 players thereafter.
