I'm also not trying to sound like an edgelord, but when people act extremely shocked by this sort of thing, I can't help but feel like they are acting extremely sheltered. The amount of insane chit like that that actually happens in the world is insane. Even in your own peaceful neighborhood, it's entirely possible that some madman is doing some really fukked up chit behind closed doors, as disturbing as that might be to think about.

Knowing that, expecting that all people from less civilized areas to act completely normal and to our standard is wishful thinking at best. Might as well hope for fast food to become cheap (like it used to be) and healthy while you're at it.
