I think doing things that you don't necessarily like makes people interesting if they are doing it to challenge themself. Most men have never been punched hard in the face, but it's something every male should go through as a right of passage.

Sometimes you force yourself to do things you don't initially like and then that changes and you start to enjoy it. And sometimes you force yourself to do something you don't like only to find that yes, you really do hate it. These are things that make people interesting and stuff to talk about in a social setting such as a family gathering.
