Launching July 1 from Ample Hills
Celebrate 80 Years of Marvel Comics with The Marvel Collection 3-Pack!
80 years ago, Marvel published their first-ever comic book, “Marvel Comics #1.” To commemorate this milestone, we’ve teamed up with Marvel to churn three brand new flavors inspired by our favorite Super Heroes: Black Panther, Captain America and Spider-Man. The Black Panther ice cream is a black raspberry ice cream (a powerful, purple nod to the Heart-Shaped Herb) mixed with chunks of housemade single-origin Wakandan chocolate fudge. The Captain America ice cream is an old-fashioned vanilla malt ice cream with pieces of housemade Brooklyn Blackout cake and ribbons of chocolate pudding. The Spider-Man ice cream is a sweet cream ice cream with swirls of cherry pie filling and pieces of housemade flaky crust.

While I did like the berry ones last year, think I'll probably be missing them since it's a rough month budget wise. Rent inconveniently goes up around the time work hours go down. Though more sad about missing the corn run as that did sound delicious. We'll see though, never know what the month will hold. Still have June pints from S&S to finish. I think between the two I actually like the mushroom muddy buddy one over the campfire smores. Though the smores is not only good in flavor but has quite the amount of mix-ins. I don't have pictures of the muddy buddy one but here is the campfire smores pint:
So much marshmallow. A puddle of the stuff, which to be honest helped cut into the overwhelming chocolate flavor. I went with the intention of finishing the second half of the pint but got a few bites in and had to change plans and cut down. It's not one I can eat a lot of at once because of the richness of the chocolate flavor, which takes over everything in the pint though the mix-ins are good and readily available.
The muddy buddy has a good flavor though the mix-in muddy buddy part of the pint isn't quite crunchy except for the hazelnuts. They do lack a little of that powder sugar that is part of the experience that I remember and why I enjoyed the treat growing up. However, that's not a problem. I like the overall flavor of this one. It's kind of a praline/pecan type of flavor for the base and overall pint. The mix-in bits are chewy and add some texture. Overall, I'm enjoying this one and still have the second half to go.Gym Max: 229/126/305

They are not steeping malted grain in the base. They use malt extract, my dude.
Grit can be caused by lactose crystallization, but that’s a pretty egregious manufacturing and formulation error that they are likely not making.
However, if it’s iciness that is being perceived as grit, that would be due to a ****ty freezer and what we call “heat shock”. They are only using guar gum to stabilize the ice cream, so that could diminish the heat shock protection. We usually like to see LBG used with guar for a little more stability.

Interesting. I would have to say it was probably affected to a decent decree by how terrible the freezer is. No matter how we try to adjust the thing ice cream ends up with crystallization on top. Sister ended up liking the ice cream so she's finishing off the pint.
I kind of want to try the strawberry and sheep cheese one this month from S&S. I liked the birthday cake and the habanero marionberry ones last year. I'd get them again but if have the funds want to try something different. The cornflake cookies also has my attention since it will be in the LA shops.Gym Max: 229/126/305
