I work at Carnegie Mellon in CS. Even there looks are more important. If someone doesn't find you attractive, that's pretty much it regardless of where you are lol

I don't know where people get the idea that looks don't matter, a girl has to find you attractive to be interested. But, you just need to be attractive enough, and then you can close the gap on better looking people by excelling in other areas that matter (Personality, Money, Status, etc). Good news is, for the most part dudes can get to that attractive enough level just by taking care of themselves. Very few people are so naturally unattractive that they are doomed no matter what work they put in.

To the best of my recollection, I NEVER received such an outwardly display of repulsion when I was an obese 330 pound guy tapping random girls on shoulders and/or even talking to them at bars and such. Others have seen your pictures on here and say you are fine looking, it's hard to reconcile my experience as an unattractive dude with your experiences. With that said, I am a pretty happy, optimistic, and easy going dude, so it's possible I just let those negative interactions slip by without any thought or memory.

Ye that’s fair, it might be rare. I think the critical point though is that it’ll be painfully obvious for those with awareness.

I know of at least a couple of cases. One was a really nerdy guy, nice guy, and witty/funny but overweight and not good looking - met a slightly above avg girl (out of his league still) who gave him attention and he treated this girl like a princess while she just walks all over him. She married him, and it was a clear case of her loving being treated like a princess.

Another was a girl who was engaged to a guy, and I heard one story where she’d go to a bar a couple hours before he arrived in order to see if she could find a cute guy and possibly monkey branch before the wedding. Surely you’d admit she was “settling” in her mind?

Well, she is vacuous, selfish and dependent. Her Dad still pays her cell bills and showers her with gifts, because apparently he left when she was young and is now trying to make up for it.

Since she loves being treated like a princess, maybe this is a rational decision. She definitely doesn't seem to respect him though, I've been around when she talks down to him or always gets the call in what they do on vacation.

Agree with this. Looks are everything initially. Because you have to pass the initial threshold of would bang/would not bang. If you’re attractive enough for that, then after that personality is everything.

For me the initial screening is 100% looks. But past that everything is about personality. Would 100% rather date a fat 7/10 with good personality than a 9/10 model with bad personality. (NOT saying 9/10 have bad personalities, just a comparison for the argument).

Men are like this too I think. It’s just that their threshold for would bang is a lot lower.

I have experienced rejection after rejection, until I got jaded and quit the game. Now I'm older, more attractive and have better success (although not amazing).

I've been pretty happy lately. The "randoms" are friends, and I've been enjoying the place more and doing more activities as a single and free agent.

The "field of dreams" thing has dissipated a bit since I've been moving on from the breakup.

I've never had an online dating profile. I havent even had a social media account since I deleted my ******** in 2007. The amount of success one has in sexual relationships might vary based on appearance, but I dont think the strategies that are successful are much different.


It might work better for me, but doesnt mean it doesnt work for others. And I'm no fuking model bro. I'm a 7-8 who knows how to take a damn pic.
