Road trip tomorrow to pickup 490 lbs of OM plates. I was able to offload 540 lbs of my standard plates all today =D
Hopefully I can find revolvers soon and I will just sell off the 25/35/45 OM plates.

They look like the ones on the Ivanko website. http://ivankobarbell.com/content/unpbzutuxt_500.jpg
I think these are genuine. If I recall correctly, Ivanko licensed their name for a set of dumbbells that were manufactured by another company and sold at Costco. Below are the ones from Costco

Bought a set of those Costcos and flipped them for a quick hundred. As a side note also bought a set of Powerblocks at a thrift shop super cheap and flipped them for a quick hundred too. Both guys got good deals from me and could re-flip them if they wanted but I know they kept them. No reason to be greedy, just get paid a little when time and the stars align.
Anyway, those Costco DB's are not horrid, but CAP rubber are certainly better.
I have some Ironmasters now but hoping someone in CA lets me buy and ship some Ivankos to match my 1000 lbs of OM plates.▪█───────█▪

Some nice home gyms here guys!
question: is there a market still or oversatured by retailers, for home gym equipment ? Ivanko, Bodysolid etc
including installation, creating the home gym (flat screen, floors, mirrors, layout, type of equipment, explaining exercises to the client etc)
say on the West Coast.
any guess on the gross margin ? 'cause seeing msrp and prices at amazon for instance (-40%), I wonder if the retailer makes anything
of if his margin is based on the real selling price and msrp is just a trick by manufacturers (likely imho) as with so many other products
sold
thanks for any comment

So took that road trip yesterday. 1100 miles roundtrip...but with a Prius it was less than $100 worth of gas.
Initially agreed on 490 lbs for $290 (.60/lb) but ended up getting 1055 lbs for $580 (.55/lb). He still had 700 lbs left of 35 and 45 plates...but my poor Prius could not handle anymore. Looked like a low rider lol.
All Ivanko OM plates. Keeping what I want and selling the extras. He painted most of them but with regular silver spray paint...definitely needs to be refinished. Will be paying somebody to sandblast and then I will be painting Rosemary w/ silver letters.
Good enough to join the club? =D

Lucky you..I'm from Houston haha. 550 miles each way.
First time in Oklahoma too...nothing much there from what I saw lol.
Been following CL religiously for the past 4 months with no luck of any Ivanko popping up near me. I'm sure I can flip the extra weights for a nice profit to make up for the gas/time.

ivankos with thin lettering
[QUOTE=2MoreRepz;1021701953]Could some of you Ivanko gurus give me some information on these plates. I have read here that Ivanko used to produce plates stamped Standard instead of Ivanko, and these seem to look identical to the current Ivanko OM's. I picked up 575 lbs of these last night for .52 cents a pound and was really hoping they were the old Ivankos. Any help appreciated.
Hey bud these were Ivankos' 1st design Olympic Plates with the thin pointy letters....I can date these to an old catalog from 1979-1980....Very nice find.[][][][][]===============[][][][][] York Barbell Club #33

[QUOTE=Rockettrucker;1040822723] That's great news! I have been trying to figure out who the manufacturer was and haven't been having any luck. I was hoping they were Ivanko's when buying them but wasn't positive. If you could post a link to that catalog I would appreciate it. Also, if you know of anyone with the same plates that is willing to sell please let me know. Reps added!

Legit. Japanese market.
edit: also on the hex: there were the grey (from the photo on our site) and there may've been a black (I don't remember). The original were a dark hammertone grey same as all the plates and the rest. Or maybe the very very first were black. Now I'm confusing myself. But anyway, I found a set of the dark hammertone grey at my mechanic. He uses them to balance weight when doing wheel alignments. Steel handle and cast ends.()---() York Barbell Club #50 ()---()
