It's NFL football all the way
The "no pads" argument for rugby just doesn't hold up
NFL players are alot stronger and bigger than rugby players and are moving from a standstill to full speed on every play. This means the amount of force they are hitting with is much, much greater than rugby, where the movement is more fluid and endurance is more of a factor over just raw power.
Also how many times you see somebody get facemasked or blast someone with their helmet, or someone laying someone out with a shoulder tackle? POP! So the protection can often have the opposite effect, and even still probably every NFL quarterback has had a concussion at some point in their career, many with multiples.
Sure rugby is a rough sport but the force with which NFL players hit is insane.

Ya...because that 300lb o.l would be useless and look like a tool playing rugby.
Apples to Oranges.
I voted Rugby, NFL tries to be tougher by allowing random people to hit eachother who aren't in the play, but in the end rugby is a harder game in my opinion.
Why is soccer and basketball even on there?
I love soccer, but it's not a violent sport...and wouldn't be called a pussy sport if it weren't for those asshats in the video. "touch, trip *note wide mouth, look of anguish*, roll, cry, magically recover".

Probably the hardest hitting would be NFL, huge guys with plenty of padding & helmets, who are trained to play for short bursts of time and use alot of power.
but... rugby by far takes the most toll on the body and is the toughest of the sports. 2*40 mins of continous play with no padding and rucking... not playing for 10 seconds then have a 3 minute rest as in NFL.
hardest hitting with single hits = NFL
overall hardest hitting = rugbyツ

What morons would say Rugby?
The question isn't which sport gets the most injuries, hurts the most, or is the roughest. It's what is the hardest hit. Why do you think NFL players wear pads? So they don't get seriously injured because they get hit so hard. NFL players are a hell of a lot bigger and stronger than most rugby players (I say most because it depends on position of the person in each sport) and a major point of football is to tackle and hit people hard.
Hockey, if it didn't have strict rules on what was allowed might beat football, but the way each sport is now I dunno. Hockey players pick up lots of speed and do hit very hard at times... however, that's just sometimes, football has harder hits more often.

Those are just games, I voted other...
1. Motorcycle road racing
2. Car racing
3. MMA
4. Bullfighting
5. Boxing
Screw football and those games, tumbling across the earth at 150+ MPH in only a lightly padded leather suit into a wall just to get mashed by your own bike is gonna hurt/injure/maim/kill. And that's not to mention Irish road racing such as Isle of Mann TT where you race inches between buildings, stone walls, and barbed wire fences. Google it.
1st "game" would be Hockey.Last edited by Dragger; 03-17-2007 at 05:29 PM.
I'm not saying we should kill all the stupid and lazy people, just that we should eliminate warning labels and welfare, let the problem take care of itself.
I do not support military action in Syria.
