Take this all with a grain of salt, but per Bloomberg’s sources and an upcoming meeting in Palm Beach…
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...-in-palm-beach
It’s down to:
Doug Burgum
J.D. Vance
Tim Scott
Marco Rubio
Now, it can’t be Rubio unless he or Trump switches their residency to a different state. Maybe Trump will officially move to Bedminster, NJ but I doubt it.
That leaves three men.
Vance is a patriot, says all the right things now, but has a sketchy past as a Never Trumper. My gut tells me he could turn off the wrong voters by being painted as too extreme and he could still end up being a turncoat. Risky bet.
Tim Scott is who I THINK will be chosen, however he is a Neocon ass kisser just like Lindsey Graham, just a more likable one who is better at hiding it. On the plus side he’s seen as moderate and a nice guy. Could help in the burbs. Not a great choice, could be worse though.
So that leaves Doug Burgum as the best choice. A really boring, uncharismatic, nerdy old guy from the Midwest, albeit one who is filthy rich. He reminds me of Gary Johnson with a higher IQ. Bad speaker, nice guy, unassuming. I guess he will be a fundraising giant and not offend anyone. Could help with women and indies.
So Trump/Burgum 2024?

Tim Scott needs to get himself a wife first. A lot of people are going to think it's weird.
Vance doesn't bring much to the table. Venture capitalist Romney Republican who was a Lincoln Project type until he decided to run for Senate.
Rubio was part of the gang of eight and their amnesty plan, plus the ticket will be too Florida-centric if it's him
Burgum brings nothing other than money, I guess.*Sit there and don't know what to do when people sing happy birthday to me crew*

That's a bit of an odd list, in my opinion. Tim Scott would be my preference from that list.
Although, whilst I can't access the full text, the subheading says, "Vance, Rubio, Burgum and Scott among leading contenders". Doesn't that strongly imply that there are more than just those 4 being considered?

LOL I was saying Burgum months ago when misc was skeeting themselves over that scumbag Vivek. Assuming he's not a hardcore deviant in his private life, he's the most logical and safe choice. When he did talk during the debates, he came off level headed and based. Kamala better keep her fine ass prepared and sober when debating comes.

If we’re strictly talking about a running mate who could gain Blumpf votes in the suburbs, which is where he needs the most help, Zeldin or Youngkin would be better picks than any of the 4 in the OP. Youngkin could go around heightmogging everyone if all else fails.

In 2020 if were to believe the exit polls it was men not women who were deserting Trump. Also, I just don't buy the idea that putting a woman or minority helps, it is the overall appeal of the candidate irrespective of their race or gender. I think we should be careful not to buy into the identity politics game
