Sony is pulling Horizon Zero Dawn from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue

Sony is removing Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue this month.

While the PS4 game is currently available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members, it will leave the service on May 21, according to its PlayStation Store listing.

That’s the same date that another 25 games will leave the service, including six Final Fantasy titles.

Horizon Zero Dawn’s upcoming removal is notable given it’s a first-party game and one that has sold over 20 million copies across PS4 and PC, according to Sony.

As reported by Push Square, the last time a game published by Sony left the Game Catalogue was when Spider-Man was removed in May 2023 as part of what the platform holder called a “normal content refresh”. It was pulled from PlayStation Plus five months before the release of its PS5 sequel, Spider-Man 2.

In late 2022 it was reported that Sony was planning to release a remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn for PS5, a claim which VGC was able to corroborate via its own sources at the time.

The updated version of the 2017 Guerrilla Games title would feature improved visuals to bring it up to par with its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, in the form of new character models, lighting and animations.

It was also claimed that the new version of Horizon Zero Dawn would add accessibility features, graphics modes and quality of life improvements to the gameplay itself.

Definitely in for the Remaster, but I'll wait till it's added to PS+.

If Sony gave a **** about pleasing its fanbase at all this would be bloodborne and not horizon.

It will sell because everything sells. Consumerism is insane and people will buy anything, esp console cucks, and esp esp the Sony fanboys who defend this dumb chit.

At least remake the games people really truly want, the absolute classics that deserve remakes. Sony has an insane library from the ps2 era yet we are getting ps4 games that aren't even a decade old remade.

Spiderman hype was HUGELY reliant how successful Tom Holland movies were.

This is Sony now. They can't tackle live service, they can't produce aaa games with a normal budget within reasonable time frames, so, you're getting remakes to go with their TV shows and movies so they can cash in... Again.

Sony has a horizon TV show planned for 2026 or 2027 and so they are going to remake horizon to make sure it's playable and updated when the time comes.

It's smart from a business standpoint, but seriously, this is the game company you want to support.. They don't give a chit about the games or the gamers and it's been obvious this entire gen.
