Always train within your limits
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

Tore my pec once trying a one rep max. My dad was spotting me, but no way he could rerack once my chi chi tore. Thank god we didn't have collars on. Chest ripped, bar on chest and then we just tilted them to the side. My dad held the bar so it didn't fling back.
I thought you should always bench with no collars on. You cant really have safety bars below your chest, unless they are right at your face. And collars on when you are squatting. Hopefully with safety bars, but also know how to bail out. Besides deadlifting too much and not putting too much weight over your head, I don't know what else to do to avoid buying real estate in snap city.

He died? How is this allowed on twitter? Who released this video should be sued.
But this is why I don't bench press...Why risk it when you can just use dumbbells? Or a machine?
I think I want to start trying to do some bench presses though but if I do I will definitely be in the squat rack or at least a smith machine.

I agree and always have an arch in my upper back as it's better for power and targeting the pecs. With that said, a lot racks have height increments that just don't work for me - either they're too high for the bar to touch my chest or they're too low to save me. I still always use safety arms when I can get them at the right height though.
The video in the OP is brutal. One of the reasons I'm in the no collars for bench crew.
