yes the gym is a cringy/weird place. it sorta reeks of narcissism, self absorption, the search for validation/attention, protein intake worries, etc. people in this sort of rat cage doing weird repetitive moments over and over and over while feeling some sort of bond...also giving thoughts to dressing up in some sort of society approved gym attire.
find something you organically enjoy doing that helps keep you healthy and don't eat too much. simple.
