If the end goal is to find someone, you'd get more bang for your buck trying to optimize your dating apps - i.e take better photos. Going clubbing by yourself is better than doing nothing, but its low yield and might make for miserable time. If push comes to shove and that's truly your only option, I'd probably go for some niche venue rather than mainstream - spanish, metal, underground ish techno, etc.

I'm not telling you to alcoholmaxx, because the chit is poison.
That said, good luck going for chicks at bars if you don't plan on having a drink in your hand or at your table place most of the night. Doesn't matter how good your intentions are, chicks will think you're creepy if you're at a bar not drinking and you aren't clearly a sober cab for a group or something. Guys going out alone and not drinking much while macking on drinking sloots, lmao yeah good luck with that buddy

I agree with the people saying if you go looking to meet people its not going to happen. I've always had the best luck with girls when I'm just meeting up with friends at a bar for some beers. I think the women see that we're enjoying ourselves so they feel obligated to inject themselves into our conversation lol

30s is fine. Even though you have to financially commit to the night (getting there, entry tickets for venue, couple of drinks), you don't have to commit your time the entire night. If things feel weird, not liking the options, hate the music anyways, just leave early. Knowing about the performer ahead of time might help you get an idea of what the age range of the crowd might be like.
I'd say it starts to appear a little socially weird if you're in your 40s+ going to clubs, unless you clean shave, have a full head of non-grey hair, are fit, and maintain a youthful look like John Stamos did for decades.i7-14700k
