I switched from smoking to vaping. Cigarettes smell like chit. It's amazing to me how far away you can smell a cigarette. I've been in public, smelled cigarette smoke, looked around, and saw that someone was smoking like 30 feet away from me. That awful goddamn smell travels so far.

No, you still have a habit and are addicted to the nicotine. Like most smokers I quit a few times. The last time I quit (25 years ago) I took Wellbutrin SR to help with the cravings. It didn't kill them, just reduced the intensity so that I could get past them. The physical addiction will pass in two weeks. The thing that takes the longest is getting rid of the automatic smoking triggers. Wake up have a smoke, eat have a smoke, make or receive a phone call have a smoke, etc. You need to develop other behaviors. Making these changes can take years although usually you'll have a good handle on them within a few months. You also need to develop a different coping mechanism for the cravings. I used to go out for a brisk walk when I had the urge to smoke or have some gum. That helped. With vaping you're just changing the addiction.

My lung fuction is way better with vaping than it was with even casual smoking. I haven't been more than like a pack a month guy during the past 10 years, and now with vaping I can easily run a mile without even getting out of breath.

I "quit" smoking about a year ago, I just vape and use nicotine pouches. But I'll always have cigarettes for when I go to the pub. I don't know why but sitting in a beer garden makes me want a ciggy. Probably because I'm drunk and I can smell them.

I quit 13 years ago... and then quit again 6 years ago... and then did Zyns for a while, and then quit those, and then did Zyns for a while again, and quit them again like two months ago.

I think some people have an easier time of it than others. I am in the latter camp. To me cigarettes smell delicious, and the littlest thing will set me off craving a smoke. It's a rare day that I don't think about smoking at all. My advice is to eliminate as many of your personal triggers as possible. For me, it's a good thing I quit drinking too (and don't miss that at all, thank God), otherwise I'd be smoking a pack a day right now.

Took Wellbutrin SR as well and it worked very good. Not sure if they give this out anymore to quit?

The triggers will get to you if you dont change your habits.

I smoked for years before i quit. i was quite fond of it and always liked it.

What I didnt like was being a slave to it. Plus the cost. Thats why I quit.

It has been years since i last smoked but i still think fondly of smoking. I was never some anti smoking zealot like lots of ex smokers are.

Dont worry about it. Just make it a point of not doing it again.

also yes, but it was hard for me. Till this day, quitting smoking is one of my best achievements in life.
