I spent last weekend in water in 40-50 F (depending on depth) and it was too cold for wetsuits (if you spend much time in it) so no wetsuit? You must be Wim Hoff? That said.. there were a lot of swimmers there as well, and some of them were dressed for a summer beach - except for wetsuits gloves.
Waiting to see if you post again today or if you're MiA in a freezing lake? Fingers crossed for you...

I had some nuisance squirrels hanging out in a big pecan tree at a rental house. Took my 10 pump pellet gun with a scope there. Nailed the first squirrel and it fell out of the tree. It tried to climb back up. Out of nowhere this stray cat charges the squirrel like a lion charges a gazelle and catches it. It carried it across the yard, across an alley, and into a crawlspace of a house.
Now i have nuisance pigeons at that house. I drop one and it's a footrace between me and the stray cats to get the pigeon. I feed them to a fox.Funishe renal hoses in Cofeville Kasas. steffonacias, great shots. What is the squirrel? We have gray and Red Fox here. Except up North where the Mountain Man roams, those squirrells better resemble the mongrels you have over there in The Netherlandic region of the Earth.
Paulalto, I hope you skinned them before you cooked them. Might help!
And I thought the worst problem he have in America is a staggering amount of men wanting to dress like a woman.
I was wrong apparently.
But, I digress!Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

Happy Chewsday Fukkers
Organized a litter cleanup for our area and proud to say that we didn't find a lot but what we did find was taken out of the area and disposed with properly. It was a bigger than expected turn out and we all had a blast, another productive fun Earth Day in the books. Every day should be earth day, we need to keep it prestine for our future generations to enjoy.
The weather here has been about the normal temps for this time of year, cool dipping well below freezing at night, it seems weird for the ice to be off so soon. The smelts aren't running in my area yet but they have been running in areas further south. I checked yesterday and most of the creeks had water temps between 38-40 degrees. Looking for that sweet spot between 42-44 degrees When the peeper frogs start peeping you know they are close and start peeping a bit before the smelts start to run and I heard some in my travels yesterday so the smelts will run the creeks shortly and I will get a sh!tload to use as bait and of course a few feeds.
Fishing has been great, trout are now cruising the shorelines making bank fishing a hoot.
Well that's all I got for now and it's almost time for me to make tracks. Those trout aren't going to catch themselves.
You Fukkers have a great day and keep a grin on!

Happy Hump Day Fukkers....
The crazy weather continues... 61 degrees yesterday afternoon... then Rain moved in, thunder snow and lightning. The temps dropped to 14 degrees overnight and we had a few inches of snow and a flash freeze. It's a skating rink out there right now. Gonna let thinks melt a bit before I head out, getting too old to be doing the bambi thing
Great day yesterday. I took the ATV into a back lake to do some speckled trout (brook trout) fishing. The portion of the lake that I was fishing was a small peninsula that juts out into the lake about 100 yards long and I was fishing the very end of it. It isn’t very wide, maybe 30 feet at the widest and quite well treed, but over the years I have made a trail wide enough to get the ATV to the end of it. I camp there on occasion both in the winter and summer.
At lunch time I went back up the trail to get a bit of wood to cook up lunch, I heard some sandhill cranes coming so I stayed still, they got close and were just above the tree tops when they passed over me. 8 of them and they landed at the end of the peninsula about 50 feet from me and about 15 feet from the atv.
I have never gotten so close to them before and all my cameras were on the atv. I watched them for about 10 minutes enjoying them before I decided to make a move and see if I could get to the camera. I belly crawled to the atv only moving when they were calling. It was slow going and I got to within 10 feet of the ATV and they all started calling. (I think they were laughing at me) Then they took off. It was a great experience they are very interesting. Watching them drop in was incredible.
Mark I have no idea what that bird is, never saw anything like it. Pretty cool, look like it's a few pounds though..
Here's one for all you mushroom lovers on this fine Hump Day!
