Toyota is upping production due to demand. I read the mags and it’s not doing performance wise what Toyota is saying. It’s a 5 sec car 0-60, 13 sec 1/4@103-5ish. Not bad but not great either. You can spec out a decent one for 40k.
Has anyone tested the limits of the motor? It’s already at 25psi on the stock turbo.
I was interested but not at 13 sec@105 performance.

The deal is you can do chit like this with it, if you got skills. everything is not about power and straight line performance.
I have a gr yaris, If the corolla is anything like it, it would be a blast on some tight twisties. I had a corvette before, which was great but it was too much for backroad driving.Last edited by Baby281; 03-01-2023 at 09:44 AM.

All around bad take tbh.
For us north eastern folk awd is a pretty big deal. It used to snow here alot before the planet started burning.
It's a hot hatch bro, they are basically extinct in America. No one is claiming it's a powerful car. It's just a fun daily driver type car that still offers manual and the practicality of having a hatch. Tons of car reviewers loved the gr Carolla when they drove it.
I think it's great Toyota brought in another car for that market. It's not marketed to replace V8 torque monsters, it's there to compete with things like the wrx, s3, golf r, etc.Sometimes I park in handicap spaces, while handicap people make handicap faces

Which cars?
whole point of the car is driver engagement. The shifter is good and mechanical feeling. Interior is kind of barebones. Has front and rear Torsen lsd. Throttle response is good. Brakes are very good. It’s light weight. Seats are good out of the box. The torque curve is very fun. The gear ratios are really good. I always find myself at least getting to 3rd and 4th gear. Most of the other cars everyone talks about mustangs and Camaros, you’re not even going to get out of second gear unless you’re on a racetrack. My grand sport corvette iirc second gear would take me to almost 100 mph. That’s ridiculous.
The gr cars are great out of the box. You don’t need to modify it to have a great fun car.
Another reason to get this is the cost of consumables. I’m not made of money and don’t want to spend 2 grand on tires twice a year, which is what you will be spending if you drive a vette with pilot ss year
round them 285s and 335s aren’t cheap.
With these cars you can get amazing grippy tires and an awd system. Tires are only around 140 each iirc, I haven’t had to change mine yet because in Europe you have to switch to winter tires in the winterLast edited by Baby281; 03-03-2023 at 03:17 AM.
