When I calculate my protein, it says I should eat over 300 grams of protein!
Obviously thats alot so I think because im obese, its adding alot to the number?

Protein can help boost your metabolism and increase the number of calories you burn, which can help the process of weight loss.
No I dont eat protein to lose weight, I eat it to fuel my body, and the right amount can help boost my metabolism.
You can disagree with me, but atleast try to attempt to understand what im saying instead of playing smartassLast edited by fays12; 01-20-2023 at 06:19 PM.

This is a circular conversation since you originally asked how much protein you should eat to lose weight. This is like your recent thread where you kept insisting you're not able to lose weight even though you're in a calorie deficit, and that maybe you should eat more calories to boost your metabolism.
You need to focus less on the metabolism science and just eat less food. At 350 lbs, I guarantee you that your body has plenty of fuel. This is not mocking, it's just facts. Good luck!

Now you want to argue with me about what I say on other threads!!?
I said im here to learn, and to learn from you, but all you did was put words in my mouth and intentionally want to misunderstand me.
It could be false that protein helps with weight loss, but I wasnt arguing with you about that. Im simply trying to get you to understand what im saying, and telling you to not put words in my mouth.Last edited by fays12; 01-20-2023 at 06:22 PM.

Dude no one's putting words into your mouth. You're 350 lbs and you asked how much protein you should eat to lose weight, so I corrected you since as you wrote it exactly like you were trying to find the optimal amount for weight loss. Begin circular convo here.
No one's arguing with you about the other thread, I just pointed out how you similarly engaged in a circular conversation about how you're in a deficit but aren't losing weight. Now you've gained 15 lbs in 2 weeks since that thread. There's nothing to learn here - EAT LESS FOOD if you want to lose weight.
I guarantee you that you're getting enough protein with whatever you're eating & your body has enough fuel at 350 lbs and that your body's metabolism has the ability to lose weight if you eat less.

I've heard you can buy Synephrine (bitter orange) on Ebay and take it with caffeine to boost your metabolism. You can throw some nicotine in there too. It's also an appetite suppressant.

Higher protein intake helps as it is more satiating than carbohydrates or fats and because it will help you maintain your lean body mass when you lose weight. Post #2 recommended you eat 150 grams of protein a day, I think that's perfectly reasonable.
Do not eat more protein because of a higher thermic effect of feeding. Each gram of protein is 4 kcal. If the thermic effect is say 25%, then you will still net absorb 3 kcal for each gram of protein. That's not helpful, lol.My 100% free website: healthierwithscience.com

It's hard to understand why people give themselves a laundry list of excuses. I'm diagnosed hypothyroid. I've taken myself of replacement therapy and I had zero problem dropping from 15% bf to 10% in the last 6-7 weeks. The last time I had my testosterone tested was in my 20s and it was near the bottom of the reference range.
The more people make excuses for themselves, the easier it is to accept defeat.Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Got it. In all seriousness, keep things simple and don't worry about the science. Overweight people often come on here and debate (usually incorrect or irrelevant) science when the only thing that will work over time is to consistently eat less. The 100% optimal or quickest way of losing weight is irrelevant if you don't actually lose weight, are happy with your body/skin composition once the weight comes off, and keep the weight off.
And regarding other factors which you think affect your ability to lose weight, if you can go from 470 to 300, you can go from 329 to 200. Whether it's weight loss or life in general, everyone is dealt a different hand. You either do something to better the hand dealt with you in life and sustain it, or not.

You were saying you cant understand how someone my weight cant lose weight (even though I did not say that), so I replied saying its not realistic to tell people losing 400 pounds is easy without having setbacks, its just not realistic or helpful.
I said I lost 180 lbs and still losing but I also gave examples of my setbacks through my journey of losing 180 lbs, this doesnt mean im making excuses. What I did is went to a doctor, got medicated, and did the right things to make me lose 180 pounds.
I dont think you know what making excuses means, peoples arguments here are very autistic lol
