Nope, he was fired because of the company's poor stock performance and disgruntled investors. Mainly their Direct to Consumer streaming business was getting worse and Chapek wouldn't address it.
Theme parks did great.
The rest of the stuff being argued ITT is barely relevant to anything.
4th quarter:
Content Sales/Licensing and Other
Content Sales/Licensing and Other revenues for the quarter decreased 15% to $1.7 billion and segment operating results decreased from a loss of $65 million to a loss of $178 million. The decrease in operating results was due to lower TV/SVOD and home entertainment distribution results, partially offset by higher theatrical distribution results and an increase at our stage play business, as stage play productions were generally shut down in the prior-year quarter due to COVID-19.
The decrease in TV/SVOD distribution results was due to lower sales volumes of film and episodic content in the current quarter and current quarter impairments of episodic content produced for third-party networks. Lower sales volumes included the impact of the shift from licensing our content to third parties to distributing it on our DTC services.
The decrease in home entertainment results was due to lower unit sales and a decrease in average net effective pricing of catalog and new release titles. The decrease in unit sales of new release titles was due to fewer titles available for release in the current quarter
The increase in theatrical distribution results reflected the performance of Thor: Love and Thunder in the current quarter, compared to titles released in the prior-year quarter, which included Black Widow, Free Guy, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Jungle Cruise.

If only they kept every single penny of the ticket sales, which of course they do not. They do get the lion's share opening weekend, though. And less and less every week after.
It was also a 4 billion dollar investment to acquire these IPs, which other movies fortunately for Disney paid off, if not for them though - this movie would be in serious trouble. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

BP2 has already broken even, it's a bit cringe that you keep acting like it hasn't.
And why do you keep bringing up the 4 bil investment in IPs? Isn't BP part of that???? What is the point. Black Panther 2 is doing well by any standard and FAR outpacing any DC film in recent memory. I'm not for woke stuff, but this meme of people blindly hating on films doesn't help.6'3 Master Race

Despite rave reviews, the film She Said's opening weekend box office numbers are cripplingly low.
The film only made 2.2 million dollars on its opening weekend, making it one of the worst box office studio releases in history.

Disney is > $100 a ticket and you'll only get to ride like 3 rides due to lines.
It wasn't like this a decade ago. The sheer amount of foreign marketing they must be doing is extreme. There are few americans there on any given day.

Idk why people arr upset over the disney zoning issue.
That area was a giant fukin uninhabited swamp before Disney moved in. And the sales tax dollars they bring in from all the tourists has to be insanely high.Survival. That's a debatable argument, although I lean towards it being a good financial decision back in the day. Not crazy about the power Disney had to govern their little ex-swamp, but that's not the current issue either.
The problem is this cozy relationship being upended when Disney weighs in one-sidedly on political issues. They made a stink about the disingenuously termed, "don't say gay!" bill Florida passed, so they picked a fight. One they ultimately lost. A very good example of F-around and Find Out.All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Disney does have a right to express whatever opinion it has on a topic, as long as the shareholders support it.
On the flip side Florida can also (by legal means) **** with disney, like you said.
At the end of the day it all comes down to money. Disney wants to be left alone, Florida wants its sales tax revenue. Of course they will come to a deal
Disney world is too big to move states at this point though..but you never know I suppose.Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new.
