Will he forgive student loans for everyone or is it only for government brahs? would be clutch if he forgives all my student loans. I dont work for the government so no forgiveness? or is it fake news? they are saying he will forgive up to 50k and he can do an executive order to get it done. Is this fake news? thoughts?
pls uncle joey.
Note: I dont care about politics but this would be cool srs.

It's political theatre....
Most likely what will happen is that Biden will issue an Executive Order knowing full well the Senate Republicans will challenge it and win in court...
The Dems will then use this as a way to galvanize their base against the Republicans.
Or....
Maybe it will happen because the lenders know that the students would most likely never be able to make minimum payments so why not just pass the bill to the tax payer.....they'll lobby both the Dems and Republicans to make it happen and lock tax payers into a never ending interest trap....
But keep in mind: debt forgiveness is a taxable event.
Either you owe money to the lender or you owe money to the IRS.... So they're not really off the hook either.... It's all theatre at this point....Last edited by N0stradamus; 11-17-2020 at 10:28 AM.

Somewhat agree. But universities and colleges these days are absolutely bs with their fees. Its not even about education anymore but a straight-up business. Why is it so expensive to go to university? in b4 to receive a solid education just lol I can learn online 98 percent of what they teach in uni for free srs.

You knew it was a bill you’d have to pay. I agree they are crooked pieces of **** and their prices are astronomical. I believe state schools should be affordable to ANYONE. However this isn’t the case as of now and getting the tax payers to pay for your bills is not right.
Jesus, kang of kangs, accept me into your heart and kangdom.

This. I doubt he will forgive student loans. If anything, they would make it so you could file bankruptcy on it.
I have 35k in student loan debt which I’m OK with. College degree is an investment and in my case it paid off because it helped land me a job that pays well. Is a college degree absolutely necessary? No. But it helps get your foot in the door early on in your career. Work experience > degree.

Not sure I understand miscers who think this is an impossible proposition.
The executive absolutely has the authority to have your income tax payments credited towards your Student Debt, the same way Obama made the same creditable to your mortgage payments during the housing crisis.
If Biden wants to push this through it will be done indirectly via tax credits, rather than as a blanket "forgiveness" program-- though in effect, they will be precisely the same thing.

i'm graduating this year with a BA in History of Engineering and have $86k in student debt. I don't stress about it because my area is booming right now with engineering jobs i'll probably be able to land one with starting pay around $60k. Feels fuking good man to have $50k wiped off and the remaining i can pay off in like 6 months lmao feels good to win

This is really true. I went to Notre Dame, and I'm terrified my kids will want to go there too.
brb 75,000 annual cost in 2020
brb 300,000 for a college degree
brb my kids aren't going for another 5-7 years, it will be 100K by then
brb Notre Dame has 14 BILLION DOLLARS in their endowment, why the fuk isn't tuition reasonable
brb talking up University of Illinois every damn chance I getI'm just a white guy from the future, I'm completely out of touch
This machine is obsolete

from those of us who were responsible and made good decisions, no thanks to footing the bill to bailout losers who made bad decisions
this also doesn't solve the problem. not everyone should go to college and not everyone should have access to loans they will never pay off to get worthless degrees
shut off the money and college becomes cheaperMinisterOfLust: scooterbrah and Mcfreoko are the two worst posters here.

Potus cant do that. COngress can though. If dems take majority it just might happen because dems are retarded and are willing to fuk over the entire country to get socialism
edit: well, he could, i suppose with an executive order but a sane federal judge would shoot that down quickly. That's a chit ton of debt for the 50% of us who actually pay taxes to have to shoulder all because liberals are retardedLast edited by tank2003; 11-17-2020 at 07:29 PM.

BRB “wE nEeD dOkTeRs!!!!111!1”
BRB $40k/yr. in base tuition that continuously compounds
BRB $20k+/yr. in additional loans just to live because you can’t work
BRB $30k/yr salary as a resident for 3-8 years while interest continues to compound.

Or it’s a way to buy off millennials to support him or at least not to work against him.
This Executive Order would effect millennials the most since nearly all millennials would have already gone to college. Gen-z is still going to college, boomers going to call has saturated. So why is he targeting millennials specifically with this Executive Order.
