I am trying to bulk up for summer and to feel better about myself. Ive always been a twig. I am 21 years old, 6foot 5inches, 180 pounds. I want to eat about 4000 calories and work out a bunch and get to 200 pounds in how ever long it takes.
My appetite is quite small and my question is what are some easy foods to put down that aren't too filling but good for bulking. If you guys wanna post your bullking diets (what you eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and how many calories each food is, that would be awesome!

Current diet - (I don't really track - just giving estimates so you can get some ideas):
6 egg omelette with cheese and spinach, couple bagels with PB, 16oz chocolate milk - about 1200 cals total
2 greek yogurts, half cup granola, banana, strawberries - 500 cals
8oz chicken, olive oil, 2 cups rice, spinach, mushrooms - 800 cals
PBJ sandwich, 16oz milk - 700 cals
8oz filet mignon or some kind of beef, 8-10oz of sweet potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes - 900 cals
Shakes with whey/ice cream are easy to get down and can be tons of calories. PBateman2 Shake for life.
Nuts, PB, avocado, and pasta give a good amount of calories as well.
Whole milk and whole eggs are great.Last edited by 1MANU; 04-07-2020 at 03:20 PM.

Yeah I couldn’t do super cheese-laden pasta, BUT if you had to in order to force calories, it’s a good option ;-)
Since nowadays my appetite has gone to shyt (recovery sure does weird things to your appetite), I’ve been doing a lot of things like dried fruit (raisins, dates, mulberries) and of course nut butters if i get the old recovery bloat.
That, and white rice with cashews and soy sauce... oh man it’s goood.Last edited by AdamWW; 04-07-2020 at 09:11 PM.

When I’ve bulked up for power lifting I go up almost 20 lbs
First thing is throw out the mental block, and go to baggy clothing so weight gain and bloat don’t but me
Then chart out my macros fairly loosely by (x) amount of cals then min fat and protein needs, then fill in what sounds good and how hungry I am
Firstly swap hard boiled egg whites out for eggs fried in oil of some sort, then full fat yogurts and cheese over low or no fat, rather than steaming veggies sauté, mostly I’ll still try to eat clean but focus on more caloric dense foods. Dried fruit (traders dried bananas! Ftw) then nuts/seeds, veggies higher in carbs like peas or cooking with them with a fat, then caloric rich carbs (normally higher fats to them) like Bagels over bread or real muffins over English, nut/seed breads, swap almond milk for full fat dairy /make strawberry milk over regular, I mean there are some many things, normally people look for ways to cut calories like diet soda no soda over regular well for you switch them aroundSuperHercules crew

Just for fun... what I ate today:
1.25 cups of oats (raw), 2 spoons of PB, cup of blueberries, scoop of protein powder, cinnamon, chashewmilk
Brown rice packet, cup of egg whites scrambled with spinach and mushrooms, pack of guacamole, banana
greek yogurt, protein bar
1/2 block of tempeh, 1lb of homemade air-fried 'fries', kale, broccoli, hummus and ketchup for dipping/dressing.
planning on having some cereal in a bit, too.
No idea on calories."When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"

If you're following a good lifting program, I think you could aim to gain 4lb per month for at least the first six months. Just keep in mind about half of that will be fat (More if you're not lifting).
To directly answer your question:
Whey protein shakes with whole milk
Trail mix
Peanut butter
Whole milk
Fruit juice
Dark chocolate
Pasta
White rice
Salads with oil-based or creamy dressing
Avocados/guacamole
Whole eggs cooked in butter (I find fried or scrambled far less filling than hard boiled)
Full fat Greek yoghurt
Ground beef (at least 15% fat)
Chicken thigh, drumsticks and wingshttps://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=181179323&p=1658333353#post1658333353

Dried apricots - 120 cals for 5 of those little things
Bagels with butter - 400 each (depending on the brand of bagel) can easily put down 4 of these
And obviously...pizza lol
Edit: five guys double cheeseburger and large fry. - easy 2400 cals in one mealLast edited by George2100; 04-08-2020 at 06:43 PM.

I feel like we must have have had extremely similar changes to our digestion systems after going through all the repairing process. I’ve finally found a sweet spot where digestion, taste pleasure, and fullness/satisfaction are on point, and I don’t have to worry about reflux or bloating at all.
Cereal before bed just works so well, in part because you can take just as much as you without having to put any back, whether it’s snacking on a single serving or pouring yourself a massive bowl."When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"

I agree that the whole recovery process has to be it for why we have such a similar meal structure. The balance is probably just especially important for us. & yea cereal is just so damn versatile as a dessert regardless of what I ate the rest of the day. Really main question for me just tends to be what kind & how much.

Bake the oats with peanut butter and some milk.
- Half a box of Quaker oats = 1,870 calories
- Half a jar of peanut butter = 1,220 calories
- Small amount of milk to hold it together = 50 calories
- Total 3,140 calories
For dinner
- Half a packet of spaghetti = 890 calories
Oatmeal Cookies + half a packet of spaghetti. Total 4,030 calories.
I used to add honey / maple syrup for extra flavor and more calories, but the jump was too great with too much added sugar and I began my bulk too fast. I now just stick to oats, peanut butter, and milk to hold it together. Tastes kind of bland, but its rich in calories and a really easy snack to bake and grab at any time.Last edited by William2018; 04-11-2020 at 03:45 PM.
