Long time reader, first post! Still trying to workout how to edit profile, I’m not male and I’m not 48. F and 23 í ½í¸…
I’ve been weight lifting for a year, but more seriously for the last 6 months. I’ve always been small/petite, weighing 48kg. I’ve since been on a bulk and I’m now 55-56kg. Pre lifting I was quite happy with my ‘figure‘, just wanted to be thicker and more womanly I suppose.
Anyway, now I’ve seen gains everywhere, most noticeably my shoulders and biceps. To the point where friends/coworkers have noticed my shoulders are more broader. Even had a random person ask if I’m a swimmer.
Now I’ve looked at my body a bit closer and my shape is turning into a triangle and I’m sure my hips have gotten smaller :/ my abdominal measurements have gone up a few cms but to me it looks and feels the same. Issue is, I know for me abdominal fat is probably the last place I lose fat. If I keep bulking, I feel like I’m just gonna add on more cms and end up with no waist.
I’m going to give clean bulking a real go. But even with that, is it still inevitable I’ll add cms to my waist?
Photo comparison is uploaded to my profile since I can’t post links yet.
Any advice welcome!

Hi, your hips and shoulders are made out of bone. You can add small amounts of muscle to your shoulders which will make them appear slightly wider.
If you bulk at the recommended rate (approx ~1lb a month of scale weight) and train properly in the gym it will be a long time before you add any significant amount of fat, possibly years. My band: www.thesunexplodes.com

Anytime you go through a building process there will be fat gains and we have no control over where the gains go. Clean bulking doesn't mean anything...it comes down to total calories being consumed. For minimal fat gains don't go too aggressive in your surplus. If you need a break go back to maintenance for a while and stay consistent with your lifting.
