i was a waiter for around 4 months. i worked in a really chitty place and the work was horibble. still, i find tipping fuking stupid. its okay to hope for some, but if you dont get it or you get 'just' a couple of bucks, you dont rant. lmao this mom blaming everyone for the bad decisions she did in her life.

$2.63 + $5 tip puts her above minimum wage ($7.5) already, assuming the table took a whole hour and she didn't have other tables. If she had 2+ tables and the other one also tipped ~$5 she's making about $12.63 an hour which is high for such a low skill job. What's the problem?

That's the thing.. in some places employers are allowed to pay far below minimum wage because the tips make up for it. This waitress should be mad at the retarded contract she signed.

In europe tips aren't expected... a tip is a bonus, if you have a problem with what you're paid, take it up with your employer. A tip is NOT mandatory.

Only way I'd accept tipping is if I could also give a negative tip based on how slow and useless the person serving me was. The BASELINE should be doing a good job, the person working there shouldn't get extra money because "they did a good job". I do a good job all the time, nobody tips me.

I don't support tipping and in The Netherlands tipping rarely happens, half of the restaurants banned it too. I like it better this way, because in my native country everybody wants tips, I avoid getting services done because people expect tips. Delivered food for your cats, tips, anything at all delivered, tips, food delivery does not happen without tips, taxi driver without tips does not exist. So chitty.

Abolish tipping and give servers a minimum wage salary, idk how much they make with 2.5 per hour. In The Netherlands they get around 9 euros per hour, they make a decent living out of it, nobody feels obliged to give tips.

Dealing with people is a sh-t business, especially when a good amount are total kunts to servers. And no, wagecelling 9-5 in a cubicle where you have to tell your coworker he's dumb once a day does not equal working with people, so every job definitely doesn't have this.
