I'm a non-fanboy of Conor McGregor. I feel like I needed to get that out of the way before I half-support Artem Lobov lol.

But, I don't think it's ridiculous he's in the UFC at this point. Technically, before coming to TUF, he wouldn't have been considered qualified. He was 11-10 against good international (Cage Warriors and similar) competition. That's not going to get a guy a shot in the UFC without having something else going for him (like being Conor McGregor's training partner).

And yes, he even lost the fight to get into the TUF house. But then he won three fights in a row. And now he's 2-2 in the UFC, bringing him to a total (counting his TUF fights because I want to) of 5-3 in the UFC.

So was he granted some special favors? Yes. But that's life, son. What matters is what you do with your opportunities. And Artem has made the most of his opportunities.

Even special favors only go so far. If he had lost four fights in a row, he would have been gone no matter what Conor McGregor had to say.

He also doesn't deserve a headlining bout against Cub Swanson lmao. At all.

But that doesn't matter. What matters is what he does with it. Cub should smash him, but if Artem goes in there and KO's him... jakes on all of us. Artem will get another top 5 opponent. And one more after that earns him a title shot lmao (srs).

This actually doesn't look like a bad card, but who knows how the fights will go. Seriously hope Fartem Lobov gets KO'ed stiff by Cub. Always enjoy a good Diego fight, OSP is meh. In for Lauzon, Perry (hope he gets KOed), Leites, Dodson, Moreno though.

It's a free Fight Night card. It's more surprising that a non-hardcore fan has actually heard of more than 1/5th the fighters on the card. These days it's rare to know even half the fighters on a PPV event. I actually know all the main event fighters and plenty of the undercard fighters (lots of old TUF contestants).

It's a very good free card, despite Artem Lobov being the main event (lmao). 100% just so they can get Conor's face in interviews and ringside. Good on Artem for milking it, to be honest. That main card is better than loads of the PPV main events.

Artem Lobov vs. Cub Swanson - lol@Artem headlining, but an interesting fight nonetheless. Cub is legit and very exciting.
Al Iaquinta vs. Diego Sanchez - Not necessarily relevant to the standings, but exciting and two big(ish) names.
Marcos Rogerio de Lima vs. Ovince Saint Preux - Decent fight for a weak division.
John Dodson vs. Eddie Wineland - Great fight with loads of excitement potential. Two legit contenders in the division.
Joe Lauzon vs. Stevie Ray - Same as Iaquinta/Sanchez
Jake Ellenberger vs. Mike Perry - KO potential

+Alvey/Leites not even on the main card, as well as lots of TUF fighters for people who still watch the show.

I don't know why Fartem gets so much hate, do people look at his record on Sherdog and go from there? He beat a legit guy who was meant to be the next big thing in his last fight. He also beat Nate's sidekick who is infinitely more annoying.

Only reason he is headlining is because of McCucker. There is legit only one person with a terrible record who can headline events and that is Mark Hunt because he was exciting to watch, however he isn't putting on the clinics like he use to.

There have been PPVs with a worse card. The fight should be entertaining and a lot of people will tune in to see it.

I hate it when they do that chit. It's so dumb to air content on a channel that isn't carried by the largest cable provider in the US. I'm sure it's in the contract that a certain number per year are aired on FS2...
