You're confusing name recognition with skill legitimacy. Sorry, but Benavidez, Dodson, Cejudo and even Horiguchi are p4p as good or better than the contenders any goat candidate has fought.

people really have rose colored glasses when it comes to title defenses. both GSP and Anderson fought a number of contenders that weren't so great... and most of them were downright terrible fights

Dan Hardy, Thiago Alves, Josh Koscheck, Matt Serra, and John Fitch (4/5 of those wins were decisions)

Silva:
Lutter, Cote, Thales Leites, Demian Maia. Maia is great but that fight was terrible

lol Askren is a bum, has even worse striking than Khabib, last time I saw him he was getting lit up by some bum in Asia and had to resort to eye poking the guy to get the fight a no-contest.
