I'll take the 8 - yes 8 - donuts
Actually, I haven't had one in a while; but sounds so good. Since my metabolism is not nearly up to yours, I need to lay off that and alcohol for the next few weeks. I'm trying to see what I can do before my biz trip mid June.
2.5 hours picking paint? were you watching it dry? must have felt like it. What model Tempur-pedic did you get? I have a friend who works for one of their retailers and I always wanted one, just not sure which is best. My wife gets overly hot way too easily and I hear that can be an issue.
Back to the grind today - Quads, abs, calves from yesterday since I took the holiday off (smart move not to upset the wife) plus I'll be doing shoulders from the regular Tuesday, then doing chest with my Wednesday tris and bis to get caught up for the week.“God will not have his work made manifest by cowards” - RWE

That's actually not true about Tempurpedic. At least that's what the salesperson said. Lol. We got the latest and greatest model that actually has a built in cooling system.
We had to pick walls, trim , ceiling. Doing different shades of grey in most rooms. Lots of areas/rooms to paint so took awhile.iSatori Rep

Chest, shoulders, tris tonight. Try this for shoulder press. Seated Smith presses lowering bar to top of forehead rather than in front or behind neck. Go slow. You get the best of both worlds. I love supersetting these with laterals.

Want to fry your triceps? It's so simple. Do incline skulls. Position yourself so your head is as high on bench as possible to allow for maximum stretch. Go as slow as you can on negative and hold in fully stretched position for 3 count.

the hold is agonizing. I'll remember for when skulls come up on my training. I think that whether incline or decline it's that slightly not 90˚ vertical position at the top that makes the exercise a killer, keeping constant tension.

Wicked triset at the very end of my leg workout. Total of 9 sets with absolutely zero rest. Db lunges in place with Smith Jefferson lifts with unilateral leg presses lying on my side. This is AFTER ascending supersets of leg presses and squats. Again no rest. I watched a great documentary on Netflix called "Jiro Dreams of Sushi ". Be forewarned. It's all subtitles.

Unbelievable dinner at our favorite place, Restaurante Alba. It's where we got engaged and where our reception will be. We started off with a halibut salad and a glass of great Rosato from Italy. Then we had two brusscettas. One was fava beans, mushrooms, and peccarina cheese. The other was fig. Unbelievable. Next up was two apps. A grilled octopus and hen. Pasta was next. Gnocchi with braised goat and a papardelle with pork and apples. This was accompanied by a bottle of Barolo. Entrees were grilled halibut in a spicy red reduction. The other was lamb. Dessert was a dessert wine, Barolo Chinato. And a chocolate mouse and also an unbelievable apricot crostato. Plus a double espresso. My friend Frank was our server. He's also a Sommelier and a wine genius. We sat down at 6 and left over 3 hours later. Lol.

Enjoy my 1 1/2s? Try double 1 1/2s. All the way down, up halfway, all way down, all the way up, down halfway, all the way up, down. Repeat. Sounds complicated but think it through. Works well on curls, leg extensions, pulldowns, cable or machine rows, leg presses. Having to think during a rep can be a good thing. Slows you down and helps you focus.

Attitude. I'm not talking about dedication, perserverence, or work ethic. Attitude. I'm talking about how when I walk into the gym I own it. It's mine. I own the weights. No matter how crowded it is I walk with a purpose. With confidence. Not in a scary, "get out of the meatheads way". But a "man on a mission and with a purpose." I attack my workout. Not in a "look at me screaming during my set" way. But in a laser sharp focused, systematic, thought out , militant, strategic way. For a brief period I own the gym, the weights, the environment. I become so attuned with every aspect of myself. Physical, mental, spiritual. No doubts. All I hear is my music. My breath. All I feel is every muscle fiber firing, contracting, filling with blood. All I see are the obstacles in front of me and I cannot be beat. Attitude. Get some.

Absolutely. It's that no BS attitude to get work DONE.
I thought you had said some time ago that music is distracting; but I see how having earphones on helps block out the deafening clutter that is people. I always play music. Do you have a genre or playlist? I'm imagining you playing Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkyries' - hahaha.

Yes. I listen to music. Mostly to drown out the gyms awful music and all the meaningless chatter. Depends on my mood. Anything from current hip hop to old school to U2, Korn, incubus or metallica to Johnny cash, pink Floyd or classical music.

Yeah - that playlist of the same 10 pop songs on the radio has.got.to.go!!!
Not that dissimilar - Sometimes I'm in the mood for modern alt (silversun, beck, 21 pilots, melanie martinez), sometimes it's classic metal and industrial with new (maiden, metallica, zep, 5-finger, finger eleven, godsmack, rammstein and tons of zombie) and when certain songs have that groove - I just crank it UP!“God will not have his work made manifest by cowards” - RWE

Looking forward to hitting legs tomorrow morning. Been on a spin class kick. Hit 5 days in a row and over 115 miles. Not recommended for someone trying to grow bigger legs. Lol. Going home to NJ to see parents. Afterward heading to Moore Bros Wine and a place that has been bored top sushi in country a few times, Sagami. Been in business for 50 years. Family owned. Super traditional. No fancy rolls. Just amazing fish and rice. I love their sea urchin, octopus, and fatty tuna.

Let's talk squats. Guys. Putting 405 on the bar and barely flexing your knees doesn't impress me even a little. Big legs do. Lighten it up and do them right. Train legs with me and I'll have you crying with 95 on the bar. Ladies. PLEASE stop doing that thing where you come all the way up and thrust your pelvis and hips obnoxiously forward while squeezing your butt cheeks. That will not build tight, round glutes. Put some weight on the bar, bury each rep, and don't lock out. Get your protein up and your diet in order.
End rant......iSatori Rep

Deep Squats build glutes. I know that when I go deeper - not thrusting forward - I feel more complete leg soreness. A while ago, I backed off the weight and started going lower after I got some feedback on a video I posted. Ego check.
Rant on, brother. Rant on.Last edited by InfiniteRecomp; 06-12-2018 at 08:40 AM.
