Are you running Windows 10? I did notice that after the most recent "Creators Update" they put out like a week ago (pretty large update) that my audio options changed, and when I try to do 5.1 audio in the standard windows sound options, it says my device doesn't support it (even though it does, and is putting out 5.1 sound). Luckily I can configure it via the SoundBlaster Z application and it works fine.
I think they screwed up some audio features and may have rendered some devices/drivers inert.. Did the problem start after a large update?"That boulder is too large. I could lift a smaller one."

hmm, idk man everyone saying that monitor is freaking amazing and i've been using a **** one since forever. it looks pretty sick after looking at all the youtube reviews. MG28 is a TN panel right? :/

Yeah, save $60 and get this 1070 instead:
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ph3...08g-p4-5173-kr
Also, I am underwhelmed by that motherboard. Sound cuts out a few times per day, didn't recognize my raid card no matter what I did, and BIOS updates took 2 months to come out post-launch. Plus overclocking features are MINIMAL as ****, and XMP doesn't work for me so I'm stuck at 2133mhz or whatever it is.

If you're going Ryzen do some research on the motherboard as well. I got a MSI b350 Tomahawk because there was a nice bundle with a 1600x at the time and the BIOS is garbage right now. Couldn't get my ram over 2133 until the last update which still only lets me bring it up to 2667. That with the 25 second boot times even with a 960 Evo. I hear some other boards aren't having as many issues. Not sure which ones though. Hoping eventually it all gets sorted out though. Besides that it's running great though.

Price and the included cooler. The one i linked has a pretty good aftermarket cooler, and is already overclocked as well. And it's from EVGA who's among the better vendors for GPU's.
I actually have that one and it works great. Quieter than my case fans even under full load, though that being said I have a REALLY good airflow case (6 total fans), so the thing stays properly ventilated and doesn't have heatsoak issues.
If being fairly honest, I haven't seen the card above 50c. The fan profile is set to go to about 80% @ 50c, and 100% @ 60c, so it's a bit more aggressive than stock since I don't mind the extra noise over idle @40%, but it's a VERY cool card considering how overclocked it is. Or maybe my case airflow is that good. Or both. 5x 70CFM fans and 1 big 200mm 100CFM fan really does help.Last edited by lowstrife; 04-28-2017 at 09:39 PM.

XMP refuses to run for my memory, so I'm stuck at 2133 as well. Not even stability issues, but I enable XMP in the BIOS and it still is running at 2133 once I boot up. It's bull****.
Plus for some reason I just realized my overclock is gone and I'm back to 3Ghz\3.2Ghz boost...

Quick question
Would a Pentium G4650 be worth an upgrade over my old AMD Phenom 975?
I have to buy a new motherboard along with the Pentium G4650
I mostly play WoW, Diablo 3
edit : Might end up buying Battlefield 1 or Overwatch
Played the beta for those two and comp handled them alright at medium settingsLast edited by MiamiLife305; 04-30-2017 at 10:41 PM.

Is the recording also saved in the cloud? I used to play my recordings either from DVR or from the browser with any cable network.
If you can do that, you have a couple of options:
- If you laptop has a dedicated graphic card, either Nvidia or AMD has their own screen recording software. So you can record your screen while you play the recorded video from the cable website.
- Or if you have integrated GPU, you can buy recorders like Elgato to record while you play the movie online.
If your recording can't be played from the browser, then I dont know any other ways. Maybe other brahs can help.Last edited by jinda628; 05-01-2017 at 07:14 AM. Reason: spelling

Are you manually putting in the RAM speed in bios or just hitting the xmp button? In my MSI bios there was just an xmp button I could click and turn on that claimed it was going to auto set my ram to 3000mhz but everytime i did that it never worked. I had to just manually change the speed myself. If i remember right i think it was wiping out my overclock settings too when I would try and use the XMP. I forget exactly but I know it was giving me troubles.
Anyone in here run a smaller case? I have an H440 and this thing is just so fuking big. I was looking at switching to an in win 301 that just came out.
https://www.inwin-style.com/en/gaming-chassis/301
It seems like it has a weird fan setup though. There are 2x120 on bottom for intakes and then 1x120 in the rear for exhaust but then mounting an aio cooler up front it looks like they are using that as an exhaust also that vents out the side? Does that sound right having an exhaust in front/rear and intakes on the bottom? Or am i reading their picture wrong.
Also open to any other smaller cases someone knows of with preferably a nice window.Last edited by FFailed; 05-01-2017 at 12:43 PM.

Sup bros
My Uncle's business is closing down and they need to get rid of the old computers. I just went and had a look and there is 3 rigs that actually seem decent, possibly even a base for a budget gaming pc.
i5 4460 3.2ghz
16gb 1600mhz DDR3
1TB 7200rpm HDD
Gigabyte Micro-atx mobo's
Win7 on them
The only thing is, i need to make sure the drives are completely wiped. Im pretty sure i know a way of doing this so that nothing can be recovered. I think they also probably have win7 pro, would need to double check.
He said if I can sell them we'll split the money, so im wondering if it would be worth the time. Fresh installs of windows (if i can figure out how to do it and keep windows activated) and wipe drives.
Based on the specs above, do you guys think its worth cleaning them up and trying to sell?
They also have an old server pc that sold for $2600 new, gigabyte switch, UPS battery packs etc but im not sure about any of this kind of stuff so its probably just getting thrown away. Again, not sure if its worth the time googling everything to see what its worth and trying to sell it.Hairy chinese kid

Build advice:
Getting back into EverQuest to kill some free time with their new Time Locked Progression server that's releasing the end of this month. Unfortunately they have some stupid rule about 1 account per PC, and I always played with multiple characters. So I need a simple mini tower build that can run the game on the most basic settings for my boxed characters. Min/Rec specs are:
Spoiler!
Whats the cheapest build I could put together to run the game well enough on low settings etc? Prefer a nice small mini atx type build so it doesn't take up much space. These requirements are so old/low I'm not even sure where to start.

ultrawide bros rejoice, netflix is starting to put on movies in 21:9. download a chrome extension called ultrawide video. it seems mostly like random movies
if it looks like this in regular fullscreen:
it will fit ultrawide with the extension:
just disable the extension when you watch regular 16:9 videos fullscreen otherwise they will get cut off. anyways i thought this was cool since i like to watch movies on my ultrawide.Sometimes I park in handicap spaces, while handicap people make handicap faces

I'm certain it's an internal deal between 4k content providers/creators and Intel. I think the encryption they're using is called HEVC10 and "requires" a Kabylake CPU to decode it so you can view the content. It's DRM built into a CPU. TL;DR, it's colossal *******ry. I wonder if Ryzen supports it.
Odd.
If you want 4K streaming today, you have to sign up for the Windows Insider program to get the Nvidia 381.74 driver. Nvidia’s site notes that No other GeForce driver will support this functionality at this time (emphasis original).Last edited by InstantLoser; 05-03-2017 at 01:01 PM.

Tested 4k Netflix streaming on my PC and I can confirm it works. Some quality issues (like more digital noise than I normally get using my XBOX One S), but mostly seemed pretty solid.
