I thought that looked like a pretty good deal as well. That Yolk was exactly what I would've been looking for years ago for my old garage set-up. I was damn close to buying the Sorinex Yoke of Georgian back then but ended up with my Rogue Monster Squat Stand instead.

This is true. Even though I just ordered 2 X 45's , 1X35's and 1X25's all pairs of Rogue color comp plates. You really don't need 35's if you have 10's and 25's.

If you want increase the weight by 2.5 lbs then spend money on change plates. But yeah they do look really cool with the color combination etc..

It just a preference. Heart vs mind.

Rogue comp color plates 300lbs are at $745 if you add them individually with Hundo pricing plus these items adds up to $5 shipping as well.

I generally do 200 lbs as the cutoff weight to ship on a pallet, based on average cost, but sometimes the situation calls for one or the other. The convenience factor can go either way. I find that a pallet results in less damage BUT the bar goes missing occasionally. The round tube with the bar slides right out of the pallet straps after enough forklift rides and goes rolling around the terminal. It always gets resolved, but UPS Ground can be smoother sometimes. As long as he doesn't pee in a cup and leave it in your driveway.

Okay, for Black Friday I finally made my mind up and ordered:

Ironmaster Quick-Lock Adjustable Dumbbell System 45 lb Set
    Ironmaster 75 lb Upgrade Kit
Ironmaster 120 lb Add On Kit
    Rep Fitness FID Adjustable Bench

Thank you Bench905 for the recommendation. I read a bunch of threads and watched youtube videos and it seems like one of the best benches in that price range.

All this will be my first home (bedroom) equipment.

I managed to buy NOTHING this Black Friday, which is exactly what I needed to do. Although, despite having a strange coating I'm still eyeballing the AB Mammoth Power Bar for some reason.

The rep bench is well worth it! Ordered mine on Monday and it arrived on Wednesday. It's a tank! Just make sure to tighten all the bolts when you finish putting together and you will be set!

Congrats on the comp plates guys. They are so nice. I've weighed mine and they are VERY accurate too. I still don't have 55s either, the math just makes sense to me using 45s. Ha

IIRC the biggest temptation i had last year was the AB Super Power Bar on deep sale. i'm glad i was able to resist because i ended up with my Ivanko set that i picked up later. i probably wouldn't have if i had spent the cash on the AB bar instead

I wish they'd put the R-4 up on sale. I'd be buying a couple pairs of J-cups, one of those strap safetys, and a stabalizer from them, not to mention a pair of 45lb bumpers and another bar (which I already lost a deal on waiting for the lumped shipping BS.) So annoying watching everything else pop up and never the one thing I want when Im sitting on over $1,700 in my cart.

I did recently pick up a barbell and monolift attachment for my rack, but I just didn't see any deals that I HAD to have. The Titan GHD was tempting, but I have been down the GHD road before and it's not that exciting. I just wonder how long the coating will last on that AB, I know it's supposed to handle sea salt spray 70x better than other metals LOL, but what does that mean in terms of racking a barbell?

Same here. We (the wife and I, along with my two younger boys) spent the day cycling on the Silver Comet Trail.

Much better investment than more equipment, imho.

Much better investment than more equipment, imho.
that's easy to say when you have a gym full of awesome equipment, already

i'm just kidding though. after our family get together we came home and the wife and MIL passed out leaving just me and my kid to watch a little football and play with his toys and walk around the house...so much better than driving out to pick up gear

Good points, let me explain, I realized I goofed on the deficit dreads, not because of the height though. I was thinking I like using my high handles on my trap bar for STiff leg and regular deads. Problem is to keep height reasonable I need to use only 25's and so wind up with 6 per side! Was thinking it would work but I don't think it will fit inside the hex bars "cage"
When I do box squats I would set the safeties up, I don't think it's going to be a problem though. I don't sit into them at the bottom, just use it as a reference to keep the lift consistent. I stop and then start driving up when I feel my but touch. Your right though that the weight rating could be higher. For 120 bucks though I am going to chance it. It looks heavy duty and for weighted step ups and all around general use it should be well worth it.

    Just pulled the trigger.

As previously mentioned, I bought the comp bumpers (45x8 and 25x2) and a landmine.

    Just now bought:
    R-3 Bolt Together Rack
    OPB in Black Zinc
    Utility bench
    Change plates (10x4, 5x2, 2.5x2)
    Grip attachment for landmine

They're still adding a lot of stuff. Mostly small stuff like belts but I'm hopeful for more substantive stuff like adjustable benches!

Same here. I already have a GHD so nothing even remotely exciting. Then again...I don't really need much beyond what I have at this point. Well, I do need another matching set of 45/bumpers but I'm holding a bit for no reason other than it gives me something to work for.

Patience is a virtue. Its important to stock up cash and to strike only when the moment is right. If it's not this black Friday hit up craigslist for another year and try again.

Did you happen to ask them why they wasted that coating on a SS bar to begin with? Seems asinine to me, SS doesn't need the help. Why not put it on a cheaper steel bar, keeps cost more reasonable, same look, and protects something that needed protecting?

Agree that it's pointless, and the difference in price from the old Elite PB is the reason I'm staying away. And I have there SS multi purpose bar and love it.

I recall the Elite had a "rose" color from the Heat treatment. I wonder if this was an attempt to get away from that color?

Guys please help me decide. I'm about to pull the trigger.

Which is the better rack or is there any reason why someone would choose R-4 over the RML490???

    http://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-r-4-power-rack

I want to get the stabilizer and the safety strap upgrade no matter which I buy.

The RML is 3×3" and wide/longer. At first glimpse, the r4 is 2"×3".
