Lets look at the facts:
-most injury producing movement, rip your discs
-main muscle group used is hips which are already the strongest muscle you have
-people boast their dl like it measures true strength, lmao its actually physics to make lift easier
-some of the best dead lifters are dyel (maxx, not hating srs)
-rack pulls are better for back and i still wouldnt do this
Had to make this post after seeing a 400lb dude rep 315s the most obnoxious way ive ever seen, i wish this trend dies. You need to stay away from dls if you want a proportionate physique

sure, but it makes absolutely zero since to say that something as ancient and proven as deadlifts are the worst exercise to do, period of whatever your goals are. you literally just pick up the weight and put it down in a controlled manner. which is why it makes me think this is some kind of roll bread.Buccaneers/Lightning/Rays/The U

100% agreed
I know I'm going to upset a lot of people with this, but deadlifts are not a good tool for mass. They don't involve dynamic contractions, which is a huge downside. Deadlifts also put the legs through a limited range of motion which is arbitrarily determined by the radius of the standard 45-pound plate.
These issues can be partially resolved by not resetting between reps, using a very wide grip, or using an extended range of motion (from a deficit or with smaller plates), but even then, the exercise doesn't satisfy the limit factor principle. With those changes, the grip or erector spinae are most likely to give out first.
Still, deadlifts aren't even ideal for these muscle groups because they're both slow-twitch dominant and require relatively-high volume for optimal growth, but working deadlifts with such a high volume will leave your nervous system fried and extra crispy, like everyone's favorite breakfast side dish.
However, this isn't to say that all deadlift variations are bad for bodybuilders. Romanian deadlifts, for example, remain a good exercise.RIP Zyzz and Greg Plitt

u need to lift more then what you usual do in order for your body to be strong enough... thats just logic
Ive heard it from countless physios, chiros and osteopaths that my spinal erectors are huge (to them) and its very unlikely ill have disc issues, another reason to build your spinal erectors up as they keep your spine together
Been deading for over 10years and NEVER had an issue with them
