I lift every night about 8-9ish and i try to be in bed at 11. I am currently cutting right now for vacation(I know its bulking season) in late december. I usually have a big meal at 8 am and again a big meal at 5 pm with a snack in between such as a questbar. My real question is do i need to have real food after my workout or is my shake enough? im not trying to build right now just maintain muscle mass on this cut. I dont like the feeling of food when i try to go to bed and i would like my body to burn fat for fuel in that time until breakfast the next morning. Is this an good plan?

What makes you think a shake isn't food? If as you said you don't like feeling full at night and prefer the shake that's fine. If you think consuming a shake at night makes your body make you magically burn fat that would be misguided. Your body throughout the day is going through waves of a surplus and a deficit; it is not linear. What will determine weight gain/loss is a caloric surplus/deficit. What will help retain lbm is adequate nutrition and training stimulus.
