I recently failed the Windows 7 MCP test with a 680. 700 was passing. I hope to retake it this weekend or next week. Goal is to get the MCSA then either go for the MCSE or CCNA. I dunno if I want to work with SCCM, which is basically what the MCSE covers. Then there's networking...
I think you need to relook at MCSE. There are several "paths", and I'm pretty sure if covers alot more than SCCM.

I know that. The one I'm going for is no mostly SCCM.

Mind you, not just understanding the linux file structure, but exact, letter-for-letter filepath to "important" things.

I can get around a linux box fine but I don't touch it every single day, I however, refuse to memorize the hundreds of CLI commands and each and every switch that comes with it. I studied for like 4 of my 6 month semester (clearly not committing to memory every command, but understanding what they do, how they are used and what I thought was important switches) and got an embarrassing score, so I've chosen not to have it be a roadblock.
I got lucky. All I needed to know was cd and something about umasks. Only two fill-in-the-blanks.

If I didn't have Addy, theres no fkn way I would be going for the CCNA I'm studying for. And that only takes the edge off of me wanting to smash my face into the desk.

One at a time, after ccent I may decide to get CCNA security instead of r&s. I need to find some options on which is better for getting into InfoSec.

I've just been hunkering down in a local coffee shop, putting on some study music off youtube and leaving my phone outta sight. For you I would say weekends you need to go ham on it, after work id stick to half a chapter or so depending on length and really mastering each chapter instead of moving on right away.

My company wants to start doing free IT analysis for our clients which will hopefully lead to more purchase of service etc.
I made this from scratch and need some critique from someone whos done this kind of thing before.

Did I miss anything or is there anything I should remove/change/add?

If your company has the budget, I highly suggest NetworkDetective from RapidFireTools
For onboarding or assessment you run it on a DC, I believe it can be run from a workstation too, and it gathers info all through out the network, server IPs, network devices, ports open/closed, software on machines, outdated machines, patching info, security assessments, etc. Literally almost anything you can think of.

Anyone ever run into this while patching:

Security scan says .dll is wrong version, needs to be update via KBxxxxxx/ms security patch

You check the .dll manually, it is indeed the out of date version, but when you attempt to install the KB it says the patch has already been installed or does not apply. I check installed windows update via get-windowspackage -online | out-gridview and the update is installed, sometimes it isn't. What do?

Did you or any other Cisco cert brahs ever use Boson for either sim or practice exams? Deciding if its worth getting or not. Or any other recommendations?

For Sec+ I used Gibson exam prep+performance based questions and it was well worth the money. Usually I need something a little more hands on to lock down the knowledge.

I heard great things about Boson, but I have no personal experience with it since I did Cisco's Network Academy and INE practice exams/videos.

If you can pass Boson, you'll pass the test. It's harder than the actual exam.

IT brahs, what is you favorite terminal client software?

Personally for me I'm a fan of Mobaxterm and SecureCRT on Windows. Does anyone know of a good one for Mac? I know it has a built in terminal but I like being able to save sessions for future access which the default terminal doesn't offer.

Good ol' PuTTY. I don't do a whole lot though. For Mac, I just use Terminal.

For Sec+ I used Gibson exam prep+performance based questions and it was well worth the money. Usually I need something a little more hands on to lock down the knowledge.
I used boson for CCENT and very glad I did. there was chit in there that my study material didn't even touch. I highly recommend it. I will be getting it again for the next test

This is actually a tad bit scary. Seems like a lot of openings for this software to even run properly.

Congrats! I'm scheduled to certify next year.

My goal this year is to graduate. I'm about 30 CUs away from completing my BS at WGU.
