Is Olympic Lifting the next Youtube thing?

Olympic lifting channels, for example California Strength have gained a lot of viewers. Omar Isuf is also doing Olylifting now. Do yall think weightlifting is going to gain popularity if Youtubers gonna hop on it, like the whole powerbuilding thing?

Yep, I pretty much think so.
And not only Oly lifts but also gymnastic movements as well.
Fitness is the new sexy I guess.

I hope so, bring more popularity to the sport as a whole.

I really do think that the US will have a surge in young talent within the next 10 years that can be competitive on the world stage. All the young kids (5+) that get drug to a crossfit box every day after school by their parents are being groomed to weightlifting. Starting them out young, giving them role models in the community and just exposing them to the environment we'll start to see some strong kids come up in the junior ranks over the next few years.

With more popularity maybe we can jumpstart more lifting on the university level to continue to grow the younger generation. Then we can start to see some competitive senior lifters.

I don't think youtube does much of anything in terms of popularity with these sports. Introducing weightlifting to youth through schools and programs is a way better idea.

You don't think social media has an effect on youth?

It does but I'm pretty sure they aren't watching Cal Strength and if they are it doesn't mean anything if they don't have the resources to actually olympic lift

I think instagram is much better for Weightlifting, because most lifts take less than 15s. It just makes it a quick and easy way to see Weightlifting.

I like YouTube better, some olympic lifters have a channel and give the most amazing explanations and drills to correct/improve form and technique. Some of them are turning to Crossfit and kick ass correcting techniques, is always fun to watch.
