Question for the Rogue experts.
I know the Monster Light accessories are usually cheaper, but which line (Monster or Monster light) offers the most accessories?
Is one set of accessories better than the other?▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #39 ▪█─────█▪

On the website, the Monster series has 32 accessories listed and Monster Light (ML) has 31 so options are about the same. I think there are a few accessories not listed on those pages though but probably still close to evenly missing between the 2 options.
I suppose the Monsters are technically built stronger due to the larger bolt used but I doubt the difference is noticeable or necessarily. The ML series appears plenty strong to me.()---() York Barbell Club #70 (DD, B, Kg) ()---()

My rack is the monster light and I wish they offered a strap system that was quick release like the monster one (Rogue Monster Safety Strap System 2.0). From what I understand, the monster light version requires the strap to be removed with a pin before adjusting, which makes adjusting it a lot slower. I haven't purchased the strap system yet in the hopes that they'll make one similar to the monster version.

Sorinex, reflex, legend, rc... Yes, absolutely.
I may have some of my facts skewed, but the 5/8" pin rack was only produced (and I'm going to say idea came from Louie of WSB) to:
1. be able to use rod/pipe. And no matter what rogue tries to sell you, 1" rod/pipe is really not the same.
2. get tighter spacing (1" in bench area).
Then of course elitefts copied it (which led to some beef between Tate and Simmons in the early 2000s) through Williams Strength.
Only Legend (associated with Louie), Rogue (same) and Elitefts (competitor from the beginning) produce 5/8" pins racks. I'm not counting the 1000 copies that came after.
And apart from rod/pipe and spacing, there is no reason not to have 1" pins.Last edited by Mech6; 06-09-2015 at 05:42 PM.

well they have the single leg squat roller pad now for the monster

Looks like they have been releasing a lot of new products lately. That adjustable bench is on my buy list, it's even cheaper then their old one and looks a lot nicer.Best Raw total 1850 at 181 lbs

It's a mystery to everyone. I waited for some for my R3 for years and they never delivered. It's just dumb on Rogue's part. Here's a link to Black Widow training Gear.. He'll make you some if you need them.. (I haven't bought any yet for my monster lite rack, but plan to in the future.)

I recently picked up an OHP (bare steel) and have been very pleased with it. Good knurl, very grippy but doesn't tear your hands up.
I don't know if its the "best" as I haven't used a TPB or some (most) of the high-end competition grade bars. I have an older OB-20kg and I prefer the OPB for bench, squats and DLs.
For $250, I would say its a really good bar for the money. I don't think you can go wrong with it.[]---[] Equipment Crew #73 []---[]

Thanks for the insight, I know there are plenty of bars to make a comparison with from other companies, but I'm talking about just bars from Rogue...is the OPB their best "powerlifting" bar? I'd assume so since it's the Ohio Power Bar...but they've got a bunch of different bars to choose from.

I remember seeing a video where Mark Bell commented on how much he liked the Westside Power Bar. Take that however you want though as he does have a relationship with Rogue. I have read that the knurl is a lot more pointy/aggressive than the OPB. I have never used one before though.

Ahhhh...got it. In terms of pure "power bars", I think the only two they offer are the OHP and the Westside. There are others that may work well, but they are more targeted to the crossfit community (ex: Chan bar, York B&R, etc.). Personally, I wanted more aggressive knurling, center knurl, and single rings for the big lifts (already have an oly bar).
When the OHP was out of stock for a number of months, I was very tempted to get the Westside bar. But, I struggled with whether there was $125 in additional value in the Westside over the OHP. Since I didn't have an urgent need, I waited and have been very pleased.[]---[] Equipment Crew #73 []---[]
