Doing some rough modeling of the walkout basement to figure out rooms and such





Bedroom ends up being kind of a weird shape because of the furnace placement but not really sure what else to do about that

Backyard modeling, this is currently the rough idea for the fire pit and path out there. I don't know a lot about modeling trees in Sketchup but threw some in there to show their max dimensions, like 15 years from now lol




Need lots more details in here, we want to do a cool stepping stone paver kind of path with lighting and then the fire pit will be mostly stone maybe with wood seating but not 100% sure yet

Well...2 years later this is what the side patio looks like. I've let it go, we never use it, I just grill over there.......... and it's next on the list for a major upgrade.

Plan is to do a real cover, slant off the side of the house...carry it out about 3' past the retaining wall, metal roof, built-in outdoor kitchen/bar/prep space, fireplace of sorts, furniture, ceiling fan, lights, landscaping....the whole 9. Going to start this weekend by cleaning it all up/pressure washing and getting the frame started. Hope to have it done and ready to use by October.....but with the 6 month old, my lower back and several weekends already booked with plans.....we'll see. lol

Partially making this post so I feel like I have some sort of accountability and ill actually start on it. lulz

Weeelllllll.......not much progress has been made in the last 6 months. Something about work, having a kid, having other hobbies, traveling and just general life that's getting in the way of completing this.

I've got some materials sitting in the yard just waiting to be installed. I've priced the metal for the roof, just need to order it and arrange a trailer to go pick it up and plan a weekend to install it. Still a ton to do till it's complete but this is where it sits as of today and I havent touched it in about 6 weeks. Ill get to it one day.

I went with the "not attached to the house" version so I didn't have to (legally) apply for a permit with the city and all that chit.

Just added some water collection barrels over here, which involved taking down and modifying the gutters. Might need to daisy chain 2-3 together on the one side.

moved from a house to an apartment back in ohio, needed some basics, made these w/my dad

Finally got underground sprinklers installed front and back. Went with sod in the back. It was trash and then I went full round up on it all. Not DIY but $9,000 later I went from white trash to middle class lawn. In Boise if you don’t have auto sprinklers you basically don’t have grass. Major pain the arse moving sprinklers around every day. Good news is I’m on a community well so water in the summer is $45/month unlimited. In the winter months is half that.

I swear I bought the only house in Boise that didn’t have sprinklers and a fireplace. 2 things high on the list I wanted. Now time to get a wood burning stove in the basement!!

Adulting is expensive.

I really wanted to add sprinklers, but didn't want to fork over $4k. You'll be happy you did in the long run I'm sure tho. I still need a new roof tho

I did buy a dethatcher and scarifier, added a little nitrogen and overseeded and my lawn has never looked better.
