Is there anything you believe that goes against what everyone else says? Especially based on experiences. What are those beliefs?
Mine are - you have to train abs. So many people say the big 3 lifts are enough but i disagree. I think you need to train them like any other muscle. Also i think caffeine causes belly fat. Dont know the science behind it, something about cortisol but i believe it.
Curious if anyone else has other experiences that go against the grain or what is preached here.

What are your unpopular opinions regarding fitness and nutrition?

Fat is great for you as well as a lot of salt.
Basically anything you hear on tv is bad for you. There is a concerted effort to remove the manliness from the American male, It started in the 60-70's from the KGB. srs. So every nutrition tip you have heard since then is basically planted in our culture with that in mind. Sound crazy?

That you don't have to eat clean to gain muscle. I think it is absolutely necessary to eat at least 1-2lb of lean meat and vegetables most days. I've never noticed an ounce of muscle gains eating like chit

Eat and exercise. Doesn't mean binge at the local McDonalds but if you can work it off with a moderately healthy life system that includes activities you can do well.
Protein shakes, etc, are great but are supplements people use them as excuses.Ndtha ton eda yi'mg oIng tofi

There is little point to do anything other than two exercise per body part.
You can build muscle taking in less than a gram of protein per body weight. I was at one time 18-19 years old, 5’7.5, 216lbs at 25% bodyfat and would take in maybe 150 grams of protein a day at most, sometimes less. I’ve leaned out a lot since these days. I have also gone a entire month without protein powder and wasn’t eating a lot of protein in food and still maintained my muscle just fine.
Deadlifts are overrrated
Preacher Curls, Scott Curls, and Reverse Preacher Curls are better than BB curls, DB curls, and Hammer Curls.
Long bicep attachments look way better than short bicep attachments (i think most agree with this though)
High lat attachments look better than low. I like how they look from the double bicep pose.
Genetics is half the game
Bodybuilders looked the best in the 50s during the Reg Park and Steve Reeves days. Even Golden Era bodybuilders looked freakish with exeption to Corney, Waller, and Zane.
Most lifters are lifting because of some insecurity. Whether it’s because they are out of shape, short, skinny, ugly, or whatever. They are compensating, thinking working out can make up for a lack of something.

+1 on keto is bullchit and the most artificial diet you could ever create and totally pointless for 99.9% of the population.
I also sometimes suspect low carb diets are a conspiracy meant specifically to sabotage people. They make it hard to train with intensity, so you don't gain muscle or hold onto muscle if you're cutting. They fuk with your mood and energy levels and thyroid hormone. They teach you that the natural human instinct to like sweet foods is BADWRONG and that we should all be swilling butter coffee and coconut oil. Then, when you inevitably give in to the INTENSE craving for carbs (which is natural) you blow up and get fat because you've systematically destroyed your insulin sensitivity by eating low-carb and your system can no longer handle the carbs you do eat.
Also, abs are NOT made in the kitchen. You can be skinny af and not have prominent abs if they aren't trained.
Don't even get me started on the cardio-bashers. I'm sorry, but most people look better, move better, and maintain their leanness more naturally if they do cardio. No particular kind, but something. The lifters who don't, IMHO, look unnaturally bulky, hold fat in weird places, and don't move well."The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously."

Deadlifts are a highly overrated lift
Calories in vs calories out is not a universal truth
Race/ethnic background plays a part in how your body responds to food
My body NEEDS cardio to function at its best (that’s just for the don’t need cardio brahs)
They both have a place for people who are insulin resistant.ALL I ASK IS ALL YOU GOT FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES

Fad diets like keto/IF/low carb are bs. People who swear by them for losing weight have simply inadvertently created and maintained calorie deficits with them long enough for them to "work".
Benching anything under under a clean 400 lbs with the help of celltech is pathetic. I've hit 370 before without anything but wrist wraps. Surely someone with extra help should be able to do better than that.
Running is a terrible form of cardio for general long-term health. I haven't met a single long-distance runner enthusiast whose knees weren't totally chit by their late 40's or so. Walking and sprinting are much better alternatives in terms of overall health aside from things like swimming/biking.
