Heres my car: A 2000 Impreza 2.5rs with a full 04 STi conversion. Then went with a large rotated turbo setup. (gt3076r turbo - tuned at Precision Tuning in NJ - made 386whp/398wtq) Ask me anything about Subarus brahs im a bit of a guru when it comes to this chit. Former auto technician by trade I built this car from the ground up with my own hands. The only thing I didn't do myself was the dyno tune.
Holy chit these pics are small now.. Sorry brahs photobucket raped my account I'll try and get some larger/better quality versions up

The 04 STi has a 5x100 lug patern which limits your wheel options. The 05 gets a 114.3x5 pattern and you'll have a ton more to choose from. These cars are coming close to 10 yrs old now and really you need to just watch out for who has owned them previously. If it was an older person then you can buy with a little bit of confidence.. if it's been multiple owners/likely young guys.. better watch out because the thing has probably been abused. The 05 gets some cosmetic differences as well notably on the interior. They're both very similar.. really as long as they've been properly maintained they should still be a great car to own. Buying used is tough.. especially when it's cars like the STi or Mitsubishi EVO. You know brahs just love to beat on them because they think they're race cars..
When buying just make sure to get the vehicle up on a lift.. check for leaks front to back.. check the carfax and work history if available.. if it's higher mileage check to see if things like the timing belt/water pump have been replaced.. like I said if the car had regular oil changes and was taken care of properly they can last a long time.++Positive Crew++

Nice cars brahs! Jelly of that 13'.. I have secret plans to pickup a white 11' wrx base model and build my STi longblock then put everything from the GC into the Hatch. Been really mirin' dat 11+ hatch lately.. would be more practical for me now too
75K + full stage 2 id be a little skeptical.. personally, i'd be trying to find the rare gems that are still stock. 23-24k is a price I would expect for a mint 04-05. I've seen high mileage 04-05s go for 16k. When a person mods the cars you know they already have the intention of testing its performance n chit.. it's not a 100% guarantee it's been abused but a likely sign. Theres no real way to tell exactly how long they will last.. I have seen 150,000 mi STi's before though if thats any indication of a properly owned one. Sometimes it just comes down to knowing whos owned it before you. It could be stage 2+ for most of its life and the owner could of been super meticulous with everything.. scared to beat on it/etc.. I know people like that. Then that would be a great car to pick up. Its up to you to kinda investigate everything.. buying used can be good or you can get beat, its tough especially with cars like the sti/evo etc..
Yeah I've been a member there for almost 10 years now, but my name there is some generic chit. "rr02wrx" - I lurked there for years when considering getting a suby, then when I thought I was about to pickup a bugeye I made that name.. ended up getting the GC. Mods won't let me change my name. Oh well++Positive Crew++

Nice brah good luck, they're hard to find. There was a point I wanted to get one and throw all my STi stuff in it but I realized I'd have to do some type of cosmetic work to it so I think i'm going to just get the 11+ hatch
Always was mirin WheelDude's bugeye hard.. my favorite front end combo.. JDM headlights/fog covers/v3 front lip... hnnnnngggg

They're holding up fine and have a huge aftermarket following so far. The only real thing I hear people having a problem with is the lack of power. There are a few turbo/super charger kits you can get I believe with more being developed. I remember seeing one of the kits put down 350ish on the dyno.. P&L has a kit that just ran a 12.4 quarter mile. Dem aesthetics tho... love how the brz looks
