I'm starting to realize that the historical badasses i look to for inspiration probably couldnt beat me in a fight.
I'll take myself out of it and use modern athletes. Im not going to include boxers or mma fighters because they'd obviously have an advantage in a fight.
Lets look at Genghis Khan and king Leonidas. Khan was the feared leader of the Mongols, he conquered damn near all of the asian continent and he fuked everybodies bish. He was a beast... Now if we somehow took Genghis Khan, in his prime, and had him fight a random NFL player... Like... Marshawn "The Beast" Lynch to the death. Who would win?
**The fight would be held on a football field, they start 1 on each 45 yard line at the center. Mongol era weapons are posted on the sideline every 10 yards. Lynch has his standard uniform and Khan his military war uniform.
vs
King leonidas bravely led 300 spartans against the whole Persian army, even defeating the infamous Persian "Immortals". How would Leonidas do in a one on one against the only true immortal... "Immortal" Hulk Hogan?
** Fight takes place in a ring on Thermopylae. no weapons allowed. Standard uniform.
vs
EDIT * adding visual to help explain Lynch vs Khan...
I tried to add visual...

op u fail @ life in every aspect,
ghengaskahn is a winner, its why he would never be postin a thread like this, look @ ur delusions
u think he "watched sports" and compared famous people of his time to others. nah he payed attention to his goals instead. it is what is lacking in this youth. generation. the average human from that time would beat out the average human of this time given the same opportunities, because they would seize them more.
u wanna kno why he was remembered? cuz he took what he want and accomplished his dreams
OP u couldn't even take the average farmer of 10 BC
but continue on ur journey of this strong strong life, id be so proud to be u brah, lmao. . .

well, you know...Of course Hulk Hogan would beat Leonidas. Leonidas may have had 300 Spartans and strategy, but he could not tap into the power of Hulkamania brother! Ya see, when the chips are down and the odds are stacked against, when even the training, the prayer and the vitamins are not enough...that's when The Hulkster can dig deep and find strength in the millions of Hulkamaniacs! King Leonidas will look into the eyes of the Hulkster, and he'll see a force greater than any army that ever existed before. Greater then the Persians, the Spartans, the Mongols, and at the head of that army are the 24 inch pythons! What you gonna do when the largest arms in the world bring the walls of Thermopylae down on you!

Most of these guys were famous for their strategy and group tactics, that doesn't mean they were immortal 1v1.
That said you'd have to consider their combat training. What weapons are they fighting with? Since the warriors have specialized training in the weapons they'd have a huge advantage, granted, most of the finesse of fighting we see in the movies is bull****, all the parrying etc. didn't really happen, and a good shield + gladius is very simple to use, block and stab. The strength of this set up was in the phalanx, the ability to stand side by side and create a wall of stabbing and defense at the same time.
So in single combat, it really probably comes down to who can keep their head on tight in a life or death situation.
If they were sparring I'd give a huge advantage to modern athletes due to size and nutrition.-Crohn's Disease crew

I think you guys are underestimating the athletes. These are some big, strong dudes taking every Steroid there is, against small malnourished strategists. If Marshawn Lynch ran full speed and hit Khan hlemet to helmet, Khan is gonna be hurt real bad.

I hope your trolling lmao..
With weapons, the warriors would destroy the athletes with ease... Especially Ghenghis with a bow would turn that athlete into a porcupine so fast. I would bet on either of the warriors with a sword or lance on a horse or foot destroying the athletes also. **** even a knife or dagger.

Lmao @ this thread.
Khan would easily kill Lynch in a FISTFIGHT let alone with weapons he is familiar with. Khan spent his entire life in combat: killing, raping, pillaging and being a bad mother fker. If you took Khan's lifetime achievements and tried him in a liberal state he'd be serving millions of life sentences. If Khan got his hands on Lynch he would be biting, fish hooking and nut shotting his way right through him. That's savagery you can't teach.♦ ɴɣϲ ϲrew ♦

Not sure if srs....
MY srs response would be(assuming they all are using hand to hand combat only):
Genghis would lose to Lynch
------------Genghis seemed to be rather obese based off his portraits done by artists in his time
------------Hand to hand combat plus modern day efficient athlete training will put Lynch at an advantage
------------Genghis had armies of over 20k +. So I see him as one of the generals who watch from atop of a hill a mile away.
Hulk would lose to Leonidas
------------Expert in all forms of primitive combat especially face to face combat and quickness puts Leonidas at an advantage.
------------Experience of countless battles has allowed Leonidas to hone and perfect his skills especially when anticipating incoming attacks. (Think of mma, they train you to watch body language to anticipate attacks, this is an ancient skill)
------------Hulk is sluggish and nearly has no real combat experience, yet he has been "practicing" attacks for years which might help him but sluggish will overpower him. Also no cardio.
