He made a post in this thread http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=168769803 spamming Shermworks' products.
I posted a colorful reply suggesting that Sherm was an undesirable type who continually spammed internet forums.
I'm not sure what Goldfinger's response was, but my post has been deleted and Sherm (aka Goldfinger) is banned again.

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Eventually, that will not end well.
I'm surprised Jamaica hasn't declared war on China over this.

Anyone familiar with this leg press? Guy is asking $400, that seems just a hair overpriced for its age. It surprises me that there aren't a few weight storage horns on it.

Pretty sure that is a Nautilus Leverage leg press. Good machine. Footplate angle is spot on. I think that price is fair for both parties if condition is nice. You can pick up some Hammer Strength weight horns (ebay) and bolt on.
There is a possibility that it is an early model Hammer Strength leg press obviously modeled after the Leverage from Nautilus. Not certain if the earliest Hammer looked that close to the Leverage though.

The op in the Darden thread, I think, is Mutisan.Last edited by deadwoodgregg; 08-31-2015 at 04:44 AM.

Third page bump....what's up?
Hey,I think I'm going to build a computer. Anyone interested in helping me? I have no idea what I'm doing and I have no plans to stay in a holiday inn....so your work may be cut out for you.
PM me if you're up for the task. I've been reading and I have a components list in micro centers basket right now, but I've bought nothing. Thanks.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

I've been building my own for over fifteen years. I buy nearly all of my parts from Newegg.
Here are a few things to watch out for when picking out components...
(Most of these are obvious; you've already probably figured this out for yourself.)
1) Make sure that the socket type matches between the CPU and motherboard.
2) Make sure the form factor of the motherboard matches the case that you choose. You can usually use a smaller motherboard in a larger case; e.g. you can use Mini-ITX or MicroATX in an ATX case, but you can't fit a full ATX motherboard into a MicroATX or Mini-ITX case. If you do plan to use a Mini-ITX board in a large case, do some research to make sure that the case has mounting holes in the right places for such a board. There are several other form factors available too; my advice is to stay away from them.
3) Make sure that the memory type that you choose matches that of the motherboard. The choices these days are between DDR2, DDR3, and DDR4. If you pick a DDR3 motherboard, make sure that you also get DDR3 memory. You need to also match the memory speed to that of the motherboard. Most motherboards accept memory of various speeds, with some available only through overclocking. I usually do not overclock my systems, though I will sometimes pick memory that's fast enough to work in one of the overclocked modes. You can run memory slower than the spec, but you can't (always) run it faster (without encountering problems).
4) Likewise, for hard drives, make sure that the interfaces match. These days, look for motherboards and drives that are SATA 6Gb/s.
5) Still on hard drives, you have a choice between magnetic and solid state (SSD) media. Magnetic media is slower, but is usually quite a lot cheaper with greater capacities. SSDs are dramatically faster, but are more expensive. Drives of both types can fail. For this reason, I recommend doing a build with some redundancy. For many years now, I've been doing nearly all of my builds with paired drives that are placed in a RAID-1 configuration. (There are more complicated configurations, but RAID-1 (mirroring) is easy.) I've had a number of drive failures; had I not been using RAID-1, I would have lost a lot of data along with all of the headaches that go along with that.
6) Make sure that you choose a power supply with the right set of connectors and that it's small enough to fit in the case that you choose. My last few builds have been in small cases and in at least one instance, the power supply that I chose was too large for the case. I like the so called "modular" power supplies. These are great because you only plug in the cables that you need to power the stuff that you put in the case. This keeps things a lot neater and helps with airflow through the case.
7) For the last few builds I've done, I've chosen to go with on-board video. If you're into gaming, this is clearly NOT the right choice. But for most other applications, it saves some money and still works fairly well. I've found, for my Linux builds, that I don't need proprietary drivers. I even went with on board video for my Windows machine that I use pretty much only for photography. It works fine for Lightroom and Photoshop.
Hope some of this helps. Don't hesitate to contact me if you want more info.Last edited by KBKB; 09-05-2015 at 10:49 AM.

For anyone else trying to build their own, my biggest advice is pcpartpicker.com. Run your build through there for compatibility issues, comparing prices, etc. Invaluable tool.

You have a PM.
Also check slickdeals if you can wait a bit. I've gotten some insane deals on video cards, ssds & whatever else.
Speaking of PC builds, has anyone seen the intel 5x5 boards? It's basically the base for the intel nuc. The nice thing is that it's built around skylake (socket 1151) & not only dual core / 4 thread mobile cpus. 4core/8thread ftw. I might end up doing this in the future, but I hvae 3 or 4 PCs sitting around collecting dust now, so i can't justify any new build.Crews: Ivanko Barbell Crew #52, York Barbell Club #95, Equipment Crew #59

No brain, no gain.
"The fitness and nutrition world is a breeding ground for obsessive-compulsive behavior. The irony is that many of the things people worry about have no impact on results either way, and therefore aren't worth an ounce of concern."--Alan Aragon
