Question How strict are you about fitness truthfully?

Well ill admit somedays ill think na and play ps3 and get a ton of junk food to go with it and tell myself lies like, im bulking today or this rest will do me good, and sometimes this can go on for two weeks solid. But while im tin the game im as serious as hell and nothing else phases my mind except getting big and strong, then im strict! what are you guys like? and am i being to soft on myself?

You definitely arent strict if you take 2 weeks off sometimes to do that. I keep myself motivated with everything i do such as when i get on my phone,my background is a picture that motivates me, when i wake up in the morning and get on my computer, i have a reminder to keep me motivated for the day etc

With my cut lately I've been going 200+ cals over. Trying to hit my protein requirement as much as possible but I find I need to sacrifice one for the other.

Other than that I'm always in the zone.

I have the next 10 weeks planned out in a spreadsheet, word document, and on a calender in terms of training, diet, drugs, supplements, etc. Real life always comes along and ****s me up though. Parents will probably tell me to come back home to work where I can only eat fast food and train at a poverty gym @___@

When I first started training 7 months ago my level of commitment was nowhere near the level it is now.

I lifted because I wanted to look good, not because I loved it. As time elapsed I realized I genuinely cannot live without lifting, life would be too boring.

My goals are no longer to look good but to get stronger, and in the process obviously getting bigger.

Now I do not miss a training session and I dont count calories but I can gauge how much I need to eat and adjust my diet accordingly. This is all during my last year of high school, next year it gets serious.

Not very.. I cave in when it comes to food but I usually am able to stay under my calories. If I miss a lift or Insanity though I feel like ****.. So I don't mi ss them. I'd say I'm average.

I am extremely focused on my fitness. Even when I "cheat" like today, I only let myself go over my calorie goal by a couple hundred calories. One day of losing focus is rare for me.

Honestly, if you are going weeks at a time totally losing sight of your fitness goals, you really aren't very dedicated and you can't expect to have great results.

everyday. It took a while for me to get used to a schedule, but its so easy after you see your first results after months of hard work. You get addicted to it. You want to see more, and you do everything you can to get more size here, more size there and strength in weak areas etc.. I have a "its impossible to reach perfection, but everyday Im getting closer to it" mentality.

So in other words. Im very strict. I have a routine that I follow everyday... and I schedule my social life and other activities around my lifestyle. And its awesome. I dont life the feeling of not exercising

Make a schedule you can handle, and do it. Don't make a schedule or routine you can't handle.

I take working out seriously, and don't miss a day, but I don't count macros or anything. I just make sure to eat mostly healthy foods - lot of vegetables, brown rice, chicken, etc. Haven't eaten fast food for about a year and a half.

I'm strict with my workouts. Hittin it hard daily.

But diet...ehh I just eat whatever. I try to eat some form of protein every 2 hours or so, and I take a shake every morning, post-workout, and before bed. So I'm sure I'm not too malnourished.

My lifting is strict, never skip a day. Always get 8+ hours of sleep. Supplementation? Right on point, daily. Quality multivitamins + fish oils daily, with creatine/protein supplementation year around. Obviously this is the jest of it, but I'm usually on some sort of antioxidant and pre-workout too. Besides that, I do some experimenting here and there.

My diet isn't very strict when I bulk. I make sure I get a caloric surplus, and that I get all my protein in, and I call it a day. No fancy foods or counting my macros like my life depended on it. I really so no point in being overly strict when bulking.

Cutting? 100% strict. It's a pain in the ass and makes life harder on me, but it's always worth the end result.

If I had to put a number to it, 95%. The missing 5% is because I like to have a normal life too, and I can't dedicate all my time to bodybuilding.

Good read, but it certainly doesn't support IIFYM as it is commonly applied.|

It really should be called "flexible dieting", as "IIFYM" has become a bit of a misnomer.

i train solely for strength now. I used to worry about cardio and all and when i worried about what i looked like and cardio i cheated a lot because i didn't like to run everyday so before i wasn't strict. Now that my goals are just on strength and i go by IIFYM, i would say i'm pretty strict because i don't miss a workout on SS. As long as im not a fat slob i don't care what i look like. To others i may not be strict but to me for my goal i would say i'm strict.

IIFYM does also come with a common sense clause that just because you can eat crap, doesn't necessarily mean you should.

As for strictness - my diet can wibble wobble sometimes, but im not overly worried. It tends to balance out by weeks end.

5 days a week, all year long...I haven't missed a workout in two years. No lie Sickness or vacation...i still get my butt to the nearest gym (or atleast do bodyweight workouts and cardio). When it comes to dieting, i am strict
all week long..then laid back on the weekends. I usually focus on cals in and out more than macros. Despite being strict, i still enjoy weekend partying, being with friends and girls. I love lifting for the girls, aesthetics, goals and for my addiction to it lol
