Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk



Both fighters undefeated. IMO, Fury did not take the fight with Ngannou seriously and did not train like he should have and paid the price. He still won, but on points after he was knocked down. Fury is coming in shape for this fight against the also undefeated Usyk, who is a brilliant fighter from a cruiserweight to a heavyweight.

This will be skill vs skill. Usyk beat Anthony Joshua twice, but went the distance in both fights.

I am putting for Fury, but it won't hurt my feelings if Usyk wins. Usyk to me, is like a modern-day Holyfield. Holyfield is my favorite fighter of all time.

I predict: Fury, but only just, and some controversy on the judging

Fury is too cocky at times, even for a fighter, but I think he still has a few more wins left inside him.

Depends on which Fury shows up...his performance against Ngannou was flat out embarrassing. If he takes it seriously, then I think he should win. The size difference is pretty dramatic. We've got Fury who is a giant heavyweight and Usyk who is essentially a blown up cruiserweight -- but then again, so was Holyfield. I actually like both guys and the problem with that is that regardless of what happens, I am both happy and sad...lol. I guess if I were being honest, I have a very slight preference for Usyk only because I think Fury will win and I like to root for the underdog. Plus, John Fury is kinda annoying.

I agree with all here. Fury has taken this fight seriously and is coming in top shape and I expect him to smother and clinch-fight.

The fight being in Saudi and the time differential, will be around 5 or 6PM EST. I think.

Tyson looks ready and serious. Usyk has won four belts. The more I read about him, the more I appreciate his skills. He is coming in amazing shape. Part of his training was swimming non-stop for 10km and he can hold his breath for 4 min and 40 seconds. Most Navy Seals can't do that. Body shots are his weakness, so I expect Fury to work the body.

LOL. I ran into a high school friend at the vet one time, and she had a shar pei (sp?) with the same name. I had a friend in college who would gladly tell you he and Tyson shared the same birthday too ("June last") . . . same year, too (1966)

Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk -- Round 9: Fury's nose was bleeding and his eye was swollen in the corner. Fury landed a right hand and a few uppercuts while holding the back of Usyk's head. Usyk kept the pressure on, seeing vulnerability in Fury. Usyk landed tow hard lefts along the ropes. Fury landed a right hand to the temple and tried to come forward. Fury landed a good right and but Usyk continued to work forward even as Fury landed body shots. Huge left from Usyk rocked Fury. Fury was stumbling around the ring as Usyk fired away. The ropes held Fury up and that was a knockdown! Fury was saved by the bell. HUGE ROUND FOR USYK! Unofficial scorecard: 10-8 Usyk (76-74 Fury)

Usyk cracked with a left hand and a one-two in the corner. Fury started to taunt a little bit again. Fury was recovered in the final stretches of the round and Usyk looked a bit fatigued after going all out for the finish. Usyk landed one final left hand late. Usyk came forward with a good combination of punches and Fury clinched up. Usyk landed a few good left hands again as Fury was too content to sit back against the ropes. Fury landed a hard right hand in return. Usyk landed a big right hook and both landed right hands at the same time. Usyk was a bit buzzed by the shot but Fury didn't charge forward. Fury connected with a hard right hand. Usyk landed a good right hand and another left hand. A tremendous fight. Everything one could hope for and more. Unofficial scorecard: 10-9 Fury (114-113)

Just watched the fight -- Usyk started strong, but Tyson turned it around mid-fight only for Usyk to take over once again in the latter rounds...and very nearly knocking Tyson out. I thought the decision was the right one, but looking forward to the rematch. Great fight!

I was impressed at the weigh-in that Usyk weighed 233.

Good call for the winner. Fury was out on his feet.

Usyk is like a cyborg and his conditioning is amazing.
