Hello, I want to do more than stimulate the muscle, i want to grow. However I find myself extremely fatigued throughout the days. Is this due to weightlifting too hard?
I've been lifting for a few years now, gained about 30 lbs and am fairly satisfied where i'm at. im 30
I'll start by warming up, then getting to bench press. I'll do like 165lbs for 10-15 reps. whereever i stop is dam near failure, maybe this is my problem. I'll do maybe 2 sets like that, then i'll do maybe a set up 10-15 pullups, or maybe throw 50 lbs on my back and do 5 reps. followed by a set of 165lb bentover row for maybe 12 reps.
Then i'll end my workout with maybe an isolation bicep/tricep, or perhaps a set of max dips or pushups. 40 or so pushups which is failure.
Should i stop this and do like 3 sets of 10 for benchpress? and just stay away from failure?
Thinking about getting 50lb more for bench. at the gym i'll do 185 lbs for like 5 reps.
I workout every other day, sometimes with 2 days inbetween. alternating between upper/lower. on lower days if im at the gym i'll pyramid up until i get 185lb ish. otherwise at home just have a barbell and weights so i'll load up what i can get over my head without killing myself. usually is around 100-150lbs and do a set or two and call it. keep in mind i'm exerted alot of strain doing these.
My eating and sleep are okay.

Your entire description of what you do is full of "maybe", "like", and "usually". You say you're fairly satisfied with where you're at but that you're also extremely fatigued.
You're either continuing to progress towards whatever goals you have and happy with your current condition, or not. Do whatever you feel works for you, but if you feel it's not working, change it.
