Welcome fellow ICEMEN
After branching out from the Ben & Jerry's 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 threads and expanding to the ** Ice Cream Eating Now Official Thread** we're ready for ROUND 4.
So feel free to posts reviews, opinions, ask questions, let us know where you found a particular flavor, etc. Ice cream porn is encouraged.
If you'd like to refer back to the previous thread, it can be found here: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=164378521
Some of my favorites from the last thread:
Turkey Hill Pumpkin Pie
Salt & Straw Carrot Cake
Ben And Jerry's PB Cup
Salt & Straw Sauvie Island Grapes PB&J
7-11 S'mores
If there is any disscusion of arctic zero, halo top, or enlightened you can expect serious negs, if you would like to discuss that make you're own thread. We want the highest quailty ice cream pictured in here, not diet foods.

Salt & Straw Roasted Parsnip & Banana Sorbet
Really ripe banana flavor. Definitely has a caramelization flavor to it.
Parnsips have a taste similar to carrots. However, these are roasted so the flavor is definitely much sweeter than your typical carrot/parsnip.
The two flavors mesh well together and overall you get a pretty sweet sorbet that is more banana flavored than anything, but not overly ripe due to the parsnips.
The texture is off. I understand it is a sorbet, but once you have Salt & Straw’s thick and creamy ice cream, it is hard to live up to that hype. I was glad I gave it a scoop, but I can’t say I recommend it. C

From last night Blue Bell Pecan Pralines N' Cream.
I wasn't expecting much but I ended up enjoying it. The ice cream is very light in weight (high overrun). It was filled with a good amount of sweet pecans throughout. The base was buttery with nice hints of salt.
Haagen Dazs version still ****s on this pint. But if you're wanting a lower calorie Praline n' Cream ice cream, I would recommend this pint. 1 serving: 190 cal. 10/23/3 (f/c/p).
Also had Sam's Choice Cookie Butter a few days ago. My only thoughts on this pint is that you're better off not purchasing it.

Besides Powered by ice cream and ice cream informant, are there any good ice cream review sites out there?

S&S Oregon Honeyed Rocky Road:
I'll be honest: this pint was approached ready to be disappointed. It couldn't be as good as the PB&J one...and it wasn't.
But, it was still a very good (almost great) flavor.
Base has excellent texture and it's at the 40% darkish end of the spectrum...wish it were darker. Ding. The chocolate is clearly of high quality however: rich in flavor without any "off" notes.
Gobs of marshmallow fluff. Thank you S&S...but your texture ain't there...bro. I want gooey fluff. This stuff is airy and mousse like.
And it's not that sweet either so the contribution is more at the texture end of the spectrum.
The choice of hazelnuts, which stay crunchy, instead of almonds adds a touch of quality, but you know what the best scoops are? Those that feature the delicious honey.
Crunchy hazelnuts, chocolate, hazelnuts, and honey sweetness altogether are a great combination and if there was more honey in there...like in a swirl for example...next level greatness could have been achieved.
Look, I'm being critical but at $23 a pint no lower standard is tolerable. Is it the best Rocky Road pint I've had? No, B&J's Roasted & Toasted has that title. No B.S.
Next year, stock up on 5 PB&J units.

Coolhaus Chocolate Molten Cake - 6/10
Decent base, my cake pieces were hard/frozen, and almost all the swirl was at the bottom. Coolhaus hasn't impressed me any. They have a few other flavors I might try, but definitely in no hurry. If only they had their ice cream sandwiches locally...New England Patriot
