I am in touch with a guy online....he sends me his workouts sometimes....his ideas are VERY original, lol
for example he will work a lift several days in a row
here is what he just sent me...I bolded the interesting parts and I added the numbering so it makes more sense
----
Now,heavy deadlift ,training starts.
TODAY,deads and gm for 4.5 hrs.
1) DID 477,2 REPS,WANTED a triple.,,was pr double by 5lbs.
2) Alternated singles,with 405,for fast speed.
With 9 singles,44o to 480.
Did 2,singles at480.
(not sure of his exact max....but if he did a double at 477 then he is probably at 490 to 500 max?...so these singles at 480 are like 96% of his max, lol......so counting from the 440 that would be about 9 singles above 88%)
3) chain deads to 465,40lb chain.
CHain dead,405,up to80lb chain.
miss at knees, 155lb chain.
4) rack dead pin one,,490,,20lb pr.
5) Alternated,1.5inch box dead,,with 5in box.
all 3 sets 405,,to 315 triples.
6) Bentleg gm to425 single.
UPPERback,,fryed from all the deadlifting.
7) pr,60lb situp,lying on floor,feet not braced.
MORE DEADS,,TOMORROW.
--------
all in all a VERY davastating workout when you consider the load and the intensity......consider that ANY of the individual exercises 1-4 would be a serious workout.....then consider doing them all together, plus more, in a workout that lasts 4.5 hours, lol

Deadlifts in my opinion are better left short and sweet(intense) workouts. Get it done get out and go to sleep!!!! If he doubled 477 his max should be around 500+ My best double was with 500 and my max is 545. Deadlift is hard to judge since its more about mental toughness than anything else.

Also I did something similar to this. I believe it was a Finnish routine. It was deadlifting 3 times a week. But you did regular deads one day. Sumos the next. and elevated on a box deads the last. It worked well for a short period of time(around 4 weeks). This up here just sounds like murder I look for his name to be in the obitiuarys(sp) soon.

I believe the word I used was 'insane', lol
I told him I could never train like him.
I just wanted to post this up so people could see it.....he has a lot of unique ideas about training ligaments etc
his bench routines etc would be similar, lol"Humility comes before honor"

Well its not that dude. Its that its not that thought out. If I were him I would choose one exercise each day. One day do Regular deads, next day do the chain deads, next day do goodmornings, next day maybe sumo deads, then rack deads on the last day since they are the most taxing on the cns. Then next week train bench press to give the legs a rest for one week. It actually doesnt sound like that bad of an idea when you put it that way but you would really have to be able to read your body well and get a lot of rest and nutrition in."Powerlifters put it deeper in the hole."

Yeah I get what you are saying. I actually tend to train grippers this way and get pretty good results. My post was a bit sarcastic, although I do think some routines that look like overtraining at frist glance(smolov, sheiko) actually yield great gains. However saying "I'm going to do heavy deadlifts for 4 days in a row" is not the best way to go about it.

This guy clearly doesnt know what he is doing. When I was younger I went from 275lb deadlift to 405lb in 5 months. Going once a week. He is gonne overtain his back. Do you have a pic of what he looks like?
Its simple science, the amount of muscle tear he puts on his back doing deadlifts routinly must be devastating, and without the proper rest (unless he sleeps 15 hours a day) is just ridicoulous. . NOT TOO MENTION how taxing deadlifts are to your CNS. Looks like a road down to over training. This isnt his routine typically is it ?
