Unhappy Im bleeding -Substitute for Squats?

Hello, This is my first post here and I would like to say this seems to be a great forum with lot of good insight. Im a 27 yr male, 5' 8" 195lbs 9%bf, been lifting for 10yrs and the last 5 have been hardcore but never roids. Here is my embarrasing situation. I used to squat heavy 1-2 times a week, as I am firm believer this helps the whole body grow. Hell yeah , I used to squat like a maniac and I could feel my T- levels skyrocket after each workout. Well, now the Doc says I have develeped internal hemmoroids. Even with super strict form and no strainng, I can't get the heavy reps I want to make me grow. Even moderat squats seem to strain things down there and I will get bleeding with bowel movements. Anyway, I have been hitting the leg press somewhat intensely and this is at least letting me maintain, but not grow. My question for you hardcore fellas is, If a guy can't squat, what is the next best thing? Or, Are Squats overrated? Is the leg press just as good?? Thanks a bunch.

Not to start anything here, but how could a guy who's been into lifting ten plus years not know what could replace back squats, are the overratted, are leg presses just as good, etc, etc.

I mean even if you don't pick up a book, read this site, you would just KNOW the answers to all of these questions from all the years of experience.

If this isn't bullpoopy then you could try front squats instead of back squats,

Guys he said he used to squat heavy, let's give him a break, he has a situation that is making it where he can't squat anymore. And that sucks. I think he knows the answer, but is just hoping that maybe he will hear something that creates a silver lining. I mean think about it, how much would it suck if you found out you couldn't squat anymore.....I also think I know what he means when he says he can feel t levels skyrocket, it is that awesome feeling after a hard leg day where you know you have really accomplished something, and every girl you see for the next hour is just a little hotter than usual!!! Due to t-levels or just the horny male mind...I don't know???

As far as other exercises, if you can do leg press without 'the problem' I guess it is the next best thing. You might also incorporate hack squats, and bulgarian split squats (these are killers for me). Another goofy exercise I do sometimes but it blasts my legs and posterior chain is low cable 1 leg squats, I grab the cable with my left hand and raise my left foot off the floor, stand a good distance away from the stack and squat down as far as you can while keeping your left foot off the floor behind you. Then of course switch to other hand and foot. They look stupid, but are really hard, takes a while to get the balance. I feel for you dude, not being able to squat...ouch!!!

Thumbs up Leg days and T levels

Thanks for the insite guys. I guess I just wanted to hear somebody say that its not too late for me to keep doing mass legs workouts. Anyway, the low cable squats and prison squats sound like potential. As for the T-levels rising after workouts and I'm not exagerating on this, if I realy hit legs hard, I litteraly feel like Im in procreate mode after the workout. I guess Im just crazy that way. I would apprecitate it if somebody could tell me the science behind why every girl I see after a leg workout looks that much hotter. Thanks.

Squats are not overrated at all. Squats will help build a lot of mass on your body bar none. If your having problems, then just do another exercise untill you get better or whatever. Then start them back up if you get better.

I have an external roid problem, due to fluctuating amounts of fiber in my diet, and I still squat. Now on a day where I am experiencing a problem, I can't really squat, and life in general really sucks, but I don't think the answer is to give up such a fundamentally important movement as the squat, I think the course of action is first to regularize yourself on a permanent basis and see if the roids go into remission (they never go away) and if they don't, then go in and get the old balloon knot cut up with a scalpel and after waddling for a week or two you'll probably not have the problem again. I personally am afraid of the second, nuclear option (my dad is more of a man than I, having done it), so I can be found often clinging desperately to my canister of orange metamucil...
